The “Resort Collection” is Gourmet’s latest endeavor for Winter 2008. The collection consists of two sneakers, the Due and the Quattro. The Due comes in full grain calf suede, braided laces, double sided zipper closure and memory foam insoles. The available colorways are black and bone. The Quattro also features braided laces and memory foam insoles. However, the upper comes in full grain tumbled calf nubuck and comes in dark chocolate and black. Being that memory foam is synonymous with comfort, I really can’t wait to try both pairs on at Cmonwealth this December.
Barneys teams up with Alife again for another Everybody Mid collabo. This time around, the Everybody High also receives the Barneys treatment, hence the name, Orange Pack. For Fall 2008, orange accents, full grain, perforated and crinkled patent leather are adorned on both sneakers. The mids as you see above, go for $145 and the highs after the jump are only $150. Although, both dreamsicle colorways are better suited for the spring/summer, I wouldn’t sleep on either sneaker. You can cop them at select Barneys retail stores or on their Barneys online.
Vans continues to keep things old school with yet another homage to Christian Hosoi. Taking a dramatic departure from the Rising Sun motif that defined the first two Hosoi releases, this forthcoming Sk8 Hi juxtaposes perforated leather for the sake of texture, and a striking black and red color scheme that is sure to break necks on the train. These will go hard with some skinny rigid denim, and a solid color t-shirt, so be certain to keep your eyes peeled for a Spring 2009 drop.
Here is another pair of quickstrike heat that may or may not hit US shores any time soon. With the suede and mesh upper, these should easily be a fan favorite for retro Air Max lovers. If you absolutely can’t wait for these to arrive at any boutique, Size? currently has a decent range of sizes. On a different note, I feel these Air Max Lights would complete the recent Fall Air Max pack that includes a pair of Air Structure Triax, BW’s and AM90’s.
Make the leap for more images of these Air Max Lights.
Here’s a video interview that Spin magazine just dropped with DJ A-Trak discussing the new Nike Running Man Mix that he worked on for Nike. Here’s an excerpt from the site:
Admitting he’s no Jesse Owens, A-Trak parallels the “pacing” it takes to run with his style of mixing and sequencing. Running Man was “about letting certain elements of the track seep in and flow gradually,” he explains, instead of the obviousness of a club record, but let’s see you try to keep your feet still once the beat hits. - Spin.com
Haven’t heard the A-Trak ft. Kid Cudi “Say Whoa” track? Listen to it here.
Awww shit. There’s a new Keys N Krates video, this comes by way of the Livestock Block Party, which if you happened to miss you should be ashamed of yourself and yes I’m looking a few of you specifically! Anyways the party was hype with DJ Pump and DJ Hedspin doing their thing and then Keys n Krates killing it live for everyone on the block and the next few blocks over for that matter. The clip features some Lionel Ritchie, Janet, Depeche Mode, Michael Jackson, James Brown. On the turntables is DJ Jr-Flo, keyboards is Matisse and on the drums is Adam Tune. Check out the video and then cruise on over to the photos found here. In one of the pictures you can see the drummer Adam Tune playing the drums with no shoes.
Supras always made a bold statement whether they come in patent, perforated leather or recently animal print. The latest addition is a pair of Supranos with a metallic fishnet and black colorway. If you can take your eyes away from the flashiness, you’ll notice complementing subtleties such as the waxed laces and removable velcro strap. If you can’t wait for your local Supra retailer to carry these, give Factory 413 a shout.
Coming Soon is Yohji Yamamomoto’s latest endeavor which appears to target lovers of minimal design. Above are a pair of casual canvas sneakers as part of the collection. And when I state minimal design, there are no flashy logos or monograms like the Y-3 line. What you have here is a very barebone casual hi top with clean lines and a nice two tone colorway. No release date was given. However, Odin is listed as one of the retailers. So check with them if these sneakers are calling out your name.
