Ahhhh snap! Here’s a preview of Madden ‘09 coming out sometime in August or September I suspect. I’ve always loved this series, but I do have to admit I have been disappointed with the last few years with various little things. This year’s version still looks visually great and there seems to be celebrations added into the mix as you can see with Randy Moss doing the Souljah Boy’s Crank Dat dance in the endzone. Click on through the jump for another video as well.
FreshJive recently released some new fitteds in two different patterns. One that has a back to basics feel and another for those that want a bit more texture. Being a plain jane guy, I’d normally settle for the plain bold text logo fitted in wool or mesh. But its hard not to want the “Fairfax Fighters” collection. Especially, when they come in complementary color ways and contrasting eyelets. They are now available at Reserve. For now, make the leap to see all color ways.
Seriously, who doesn’t want an exact, scaled down replica of a live animal for their decorating? I guess that’s the question the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) is trying to answer… These ATBC-PVC replica animals in unrealistic colours are for sale and are Japan MoMa exclusive products. The collection is meant to highlight lifestyle products from Japan. Cool idea, and frankly, I’m loving the pink elephant. It’s pretty random though.
OK. I get it. Tattoo’s are f’ckin hardcore. You do it to piss off your mom. You do it to prove that you can take pain. You do it because you have somethin’ to say. But this? This I don’t get.
Designers Ahmet Bektes, Koray Gelmez & Eda Kose are responsible for this aesthetically pleasing fruit bowl. They’ve got the good looks covered, especially with the lit ambient blue ring and minimal i-Look. However, the functionality is what will make you take this piece of kitchenware home. The blue light emitted increases shelf life of the fruits by killing off bacteria. Let’s hope this concept becomes a reality.
The year was 1993/94, hold up, what the fuck? It’s been about 14 -15 years since these cats debut? God damn, I’m gettin’ old. As I was saying the year was ‘93/’94 and the east and west coasts were fully reppin, what appeared to be out of nowhere came this fresh new duo called The Outkast. The group consisted of Dre, now known as Andre 3000, and Big Boi. The duo brought this fresh southern sound that hip hop hadn’t heard at the time and flipped the script. The song featured here is a CLASSIC, “Player’s Ball” came out in ‘93 and shot straight to number 1 on Billboard and eventually went gold. This helped push out their debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, which featured Goodie Mob and production by Organized Noize. My favorite verse that made me go “oooooooooh shit”, mostly cus this is a fuckin’ tongue twister was done by Dre and goes:
“it goes simply ten and i’ll serve you then now we bend the corner in my
cadillac my heart does not go pitty pat for no rat i’m leaning back my
elbows out the windows cold rum and indo fills my body where’s the party
we rode deep we dip to underground see’s a lot of hoes around i spit my
game while waiting count down a five, fo a three two here comes the one
a new year has begun, please folks, spark another one”

Here is the latest video to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. With the theatrical like introduction and credits, you’d think this is a movie. June 12th needs to roll around sooner.
Here’s a new remix from Immuzikation. They taken Santogold’s “L.E.S Artistes” and mashed it up with Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E” and what we end up having is a whole lot of dance goodness. Have a listen and if you like, download it.

OK, here’s one for the boys. I found these crazy sunglasses and couldn’t resist putting them out there because they’re awesome. Ksubi has produced a sweet blend of dork-chic with these babies. The frames are plastic and there’s something totally hot about them. Also, the saturated colours totally remind me of Speed Racer. No joke. Speed Racer for your eyes. Be loud, and let out your inner dork. More fun pics after the jump.
Us B.C. West Coasters are being promised a heatwave, starting Thursday, so it’s time to think about the beach - and what you’re going to carry all your fabulous goodies (INCLUDING SUNSCREEN) in. I’m partial to the canvass tote, easy to clean and not so finicky you need to worry about getting sand in it. Leather and sand? I don’t think so. Nope, something fun and beachy like this one from Virginia Johnson is just right.
As you all know, I’m quite a fan of these dudes..and pretty much anyone thats doing something creative and progressive for music, regardless of genre.
We’ve all seen their remixes of classics by the Fugees, Aaliyah, Biggie, etc on their Keys N Krates TV channel on Youtube - but here is an upbeat original by them called Eye Know. If this composition is any indication of what they’re working on, you can pretty much considering them a solidified band now. The drums, synths and Steely Dan vocal cuts work together perfectly. The video clip is pretty dope too, but still raw and gives you a hint of what their live show is like.
Speaking of which, Keys N Krates will be back in Vancouver on Thursday May 29th at Barnone. Those of you who attended their show last time can attest to what a great vibe and party it was and I’m sure this time around will only be better.

The summer of 2007 gave birth to Killahbeez.com. We felt that there were a lot of street culture blogs out there that were fairly one-dimensional, specializing in just music, fitteds, clothes or art and gearing specifically to one gender. We wanted to bring all of those offerings under one house and cater to everyone and talk about everything that influences the streets and vice versa.
Our Killahbeez.com family consists of members located out on the East Coast and the West Coast of North America. This helps gives us a diversified look at the culture and all that encompasses it.
