After a whole year and nearly one month of hype, SSUR has released their fedora inspired fitted. Originally only available in charcoal, black and a woven pattern have been added as new colorways. Also, as part of the Fall 2008 collection, SSUR teamed up with Rebel Ape. The end result is a digi camo all over pattern fitted with two removeable patches. The wait is over. Rock-N-Jocks brings you some of the best New Era custom fitteds in the game. Bo knows this Kansas City Royals Custom Fitted is on fire. This hat is all sparkling grape with an all seaglass bill. The embroidered “KC crown” logo is in seaglass and white. The back of the hat has the embroiderd MLB logo also in seaglass and white. Next up is the New York Mets custom fitted New Era. This hat is all green with an all orange bill. The embroidered Mets logo is in green, white, and orange, and outlined in green. The back of the hat has the embroidered “NY” logo in orange. Lastly is the Chicago Cubs pinstripes New Era custom fitted. This hat is all white with navy blue pinstripes on the front, sides and back of the hat. The embroidered “cub face” logo is in white, blue and outlined in red. The top of the bill is in blue with the bottom of the bill in red. MSTRKRFT (read as “Master-Kraft”) is an electronic group out of Toronto. Actually this year at the Toronto Virgin Music Fest they replaced SebastiAn, when he missed his flight and they didn’t disappoint. The group came together in 2005 and consists of JFK (Jesse F. Keeler) and Al-P (Alex Puodziukas). The group has remixed over 30 songs of various genres including the latest remix of John Legend’s song “Green Light”.
On Friday I attended Fist Of God, which is the official name for the MSTRKRFT tour as well as their upcoming album, which is expected to drop in January of 2009. The stop I was at had Felix Cartal opening up, but there will be various openers throughout the tour such as DJ A-Trak, DJ Aoki, LA Riots, Congorock, DJ Assault and the aforementioned Felix Cartal. Blueprint Events, which is known as one of Vancouver’s best electronic promoters for a minute now, was hosting the event as well as the after party.
The event took place at Celebrities Night club and was fully packed, in fact this show could have easily taken place at Commodore Ballroom to accommodate more folks, but nonetheless the vibes were good as people were ready to dance their fuckin’ asses off. The duo came on at around 1am and they immediately had the crowd going crazy, as their sound is fairly distinct with that 4/4 beat and heavy heavy synths.
Milwaukee Braves New Era hat in the classic navy and red color way with their World Series Patch on the Side, also adding to the vintage feel is the classic green under brim.
Alright, so I’m not big fan of trucker style caps. But Official’s shemagh patterned fitted with mesh snapback is worth a double take. Two colorways are available with monochromatic for the folks that like to keep things subtle. The second release appears to be a regular plaid pattern adorned with complementary colors purple and gold. Either fitteds are superb in my book. The first Kings hat is all white with the “LOS ANGELES KINGS” embroidered writing in black. The new era flag on the side is also embroidered in black. The back of the hat has the embroidered “NHL Logo” in black and white. The second of the Kings hat is all white with an all black bill. The “LOS ANGELES KINGS” embroidered script writing is in black. Awww shit. There’s a new Keys N Krates video, this comes by way of the Livestock Block Party, which if you happened to miss you should be ashamed of yourself and yes I’m looking a few of you specifically! Anyways the party was hype with DJ Pump and DJ Hedspin doing their thing and then Keys n Krates killing it live for everyone on the block and the next few blocks over for that matter. The clip features some Lionel Ritchie, Janet, Depeche Mode, Michael Jackson, James Brown. On the turntables is DJ Jr-Flo, keyboards is Matisse and on the drums is Adam Tune.
