Pop-Up shops undoubtfully goes hand in hand with limited edition releases. Kiks Tyo will debut their “Pop-Up” store starting tomorrow at LaForet Harajuku. For two weeks and one day, those near Harajuku can purchase limited pieces such as the collabos with Casio G-Shock, Champions, New Balance and of course the “Sneaker Lover” series of tees, dvd and photo book. For this short period of time, two special Aki Hoshino items will be also available. First off, theres a shirt that can only be purchased at LaForet and finally, the Aki Kubrick. 300 of the Kubricks will only be available if you purchase a minimum of 10,000 yen or 3,000 for those wearing Kiks Tyo garment. Available now for pre-order is the latest installment of the Aki Hoshino x Yone x Kiks Tyo “Sneaker Lover” series. To date, this is probably my favorite of the entire series. Especially with the Merlin Bronque-esque bird’s eye view shirt. Completists with expensive taste would’ve already pre-ordered all previous tees, dvd and photobook. Anyway, the pre-order started today and ends on April 21st or when supplies last. I’m glad I held out. Getting sucked into the “gotta catch them all” bug is painful on the wallet. Via Kiks Tyo, are a few new products featuring Aki Hoshino. The real pleasant surprise here is the photography is done by none other than Yone. Two shirts are up for pre-order and a photography book is online now. Be swift as the pre-order deadline is 2/15/08 for the shirts! Previous Kiks Tyo x Aki shirts sell out quick. Even if you don’t like Aki Hoshino, buy Yasumasa Yonehara’s photo book. He is the Japanese equivalent to Terry Richardson. Although I don’t know if Yonehara walks around with a Yashica T5.
