Caught this video over on MySpace when I was checking my account. No real value in the video besides hearing her sexy accent and simply just staring at her. Here’s a description of the video:
Description: MySpace Fashion caught up with Yelle for her first trip to Los Angeles. Outfitted in a yellow Smart Car (how appropriate), Yelle took MySpace Fashion to a variety of different shops to show us how the pop-star achieves her signature style! MySpace Fashion was on a wild ride as we ventured into shops on Melrose and in Chinatown.
Oh and people, notice how she pronounces her own name, Yelle not Yel-le, in the illustrious words of Ice Cube, “Check Yo’self”.
Yelle, merely hearing the name makes me conjure up images of Julie Budet aka Yelle gyrating her hips in those lovely red shorts in the video “Je Veux Te Voir”, moisturizing up her legs in “A Cause des Garcons” and not to be forgotten the brief boobie flash in the video “Ce Jeu”. Honestly, I’m not a pervert. I just have a massive crush on her, someone I like to call “wifey” she just don’t know it yet. So when a few of us Killahbeez heads were invited on Tuesday by Sealed With A Kiss to check her out I was definitely stoked at the opportunity.
Arriving at 10:30ish, we were right on schedule and quickly grabbed a few shots, before seeing the lights being dimmed and the fans quickly rushing towards the stage. The lights came on and there in front of me was “wifey”…errr I mean Yelle with Grandmarnier and Tepr. The synths kick in, followed by drums, the instrumental had people going nuts and everyone that didn’t already make their way to the dance floor did so at this point. A few moments later Yelle starts singing the lyrics to “Tristesse / Joie”, there’s one part of the song around the 3:50 mark where the beat goes down and builds back up, seeing that live was crazy as the build-up came and hit it’s peak everybody wilded out. As the song ended, she thanked Vancouver for having her and in her adorable French accent asked the crowd “Are you ready to DANCE!” a resounding hell yeah was shouted back.
The up tempo song “Mal Poli” would be the next song we were treated to. Watching her dancing across the stage back and forth was quite a site. She was ass shaking and getting the crowd to do the same, it was infectious and there was no possible way that you could not dance. Yelle kept the pace by going straight into “85A” before going into “Dans Ta Vraie Vie”, which has a very Missy Elliot-esque feel to it. Continue Reading
Continuing to post all the new tracks. First up is Lykke Li and a remix of her song “Little Bit” by Loving Hand, definitely some hotness here. Also don’t forget her album has finally hit stateside, so be sure to cop that. After that we got Bloc Party’s new song “Trojan Horse” off of their album Intimacy, which has a release date of October, but is being officially digitally released on the 21st of August, this is to help combat piracy. We also have three sick remixes, Ladyhawke’s “Dusk Till Dawn” gets remixed by Linus Loves and Vinyl Man & Wax Boy kill it with the “Everyone Nose” and finally Yelle’s latest single “Ce Jeu” gets remixed as well.

N.E.R.D. “Everyone Nose” Vinyl Man & Wax Boy LA Coke Bars Remix
Here’s the latest video and single from french hottie, Yelle. The video, “Ce Jeu”, directed by Yoann Lemoine, features lots of colors as well as Yelle with a two piece band playing out the song. Also I think I noticed a nipple slip, well actually her whole left boob is exposed in one section. Watch carefully. This song is totally infectious and I blame Killahbeez resident homegirl, Michelle for turning me onto Yelle’s music. Her previous video was for “Je Veux Te Voir”, which can be seen here.
Also she’s touring throughout North America over the next few months and may be stopping through your city, so check out her tour page for more info. As for me, I’m looking forward to when she stops in Vancouver, which is being presented by Sealed With A Kiss, again I can’t stop mentioning how dope these dudes are as they continuously bring in some of the best acts.
A great no-fuss number every woman should have in her closet is the T-shirt dress. The basic style can be thrown over leggings for the girl on the go, and yet is versatile enough to be belted or adorned with statement jewelry for a more trendy look.
Paper Tiger makes a great T-shirt dress that is color blocked using five vibrant shades. The T-shirt dress features a semi-detached band detail on one side of the hem and a wide neck opening. I’m just loving the colors on this dress. It definitely looks like something Yelle would rock with a pair of metallic silver leggings and Reeboks. If you’re leaning towards a more classic look, slip the dress on top of a pair of black leggings and slouchy boots for the winter.
The great thing about a piece like this is that it’s versatile enough to keep at the front of your closet for the entire year. And at a sale price of $78 on Pixie Market, this T-shirt dress is definitely too hot not to cop!
Is Lykke Li the Swedish equivalent to Yelle? Ok its definitely just me, but I see a comparison. Watch the official video to “I’m Good, I’m Gone.” Many thanks to Discobelle for originally posting this video.
