Bit a minute since I’ve hit you all with some new tracks. So here goes. First up is a new track from Santogold featuring M.I.A., I know there’s been a lot of comparisons between the two, but honestly folks I don’t see it nor do I hear it. Just cus Rolling Stone says they’re the same don’t mean they are. Next is a track from Swizz Beatz, an interesting sample on this song, give it a listen and you’ll know what I mean. Third track is a new joint by the Mixtape Messiah himself, Chamillionaire and the fourth is a new remix by The Hood Internet, whom we had the chance to interview and can be seen here, between Dizzee Rascal and Cut Copy, very interesting indeed. Last but not least is something for the ladies, well kinda cus Freeway thugs this track up quite a bit. It’s the remix for Robin Thicke’s single “Magic”.
Santogold Ft. M.I.A. & Gorilla Zoe “Get It Up” (Prod. by Radioclit)
Swizz Beatz “That Oprah”
Chamillionaire “Put On”
ABX “Strangerole (Windskool)” (Dizzee Rascal vs Cut Copy)
The Hood Internet really needs no introduction. By now, you’ll know from my earlier posts, I love everything STV SLV and ABX puts out on their blog. And if you’re up to date with music blogs, you’ll know they are one of the most talked about mash-up duos. From what I’ve read, “Internet Platinum” status is synonymous with The Hood Internet. Fortunately, with their schedule consisting of gigs and lab time, they were able to squeeze me in for an interview. Here goes…
What is the origin behind The Hood Internet?
ABX: The Hood Internet is a blog that was started by STV to post ill mashups and possibly other things for the downloading masses. To this point we’ve pretty much only posted ill mashups. Aside from being a blog it is also the name we go by as a DJ duo for live shows and mixtapes.
By now if you’ve been a loyal reader of Killahbeez, you know we how much we love The Hood Internet. Below is a stream to the latest mixtape, The Hood Internet vs. Chicago. Enjoy.
And here is a link to the zSHARE. As always, the track list is on back.
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve visited The Hood Internet. But its proven that anything ABX and STV SLV get their hands on is worth listening to. My jaw dropped when I saw the entry entitled, The Hood Internet vs. Lykke Li. Listen to the mini mix. Over and over again.
As always the track listing is on the back and the direct link here.
Last Friday, Mona Alice Oakenfold posted up the video to Stress. If you own a copy of the Y album, you may agree with me that pretty much all the tracks don’t need to be remixed. In baseline form, they all can hold their own on the dance floor. There are a few producers such as Boys Noize, Jesse Tittsworth and The Hood Internet that did a stellar job on reworking tracks by Justice. So what am I alluding to? Just click play and listen to the Auto remix of Stress. Another reason to look forward to Ed Banger Records Vol. 3.
