Sarah Assbring, the sole member of Swedish export El Perro del Mar, will be hitting up Vancouver’s Red Room tonight with Lykke Li. The soft-spoken, khol-rimmed eyed Edie Sedgwick look alike has been on tour in North America since the beginning of May. After Vancouver, she’ll be hittin’ up Seattle, Portland, San Fran and L.A. before heading back to Europe to continue her summer tour.

El Perro del Mar, which translates into “the dog of the sea” in Spanish, began in December 2003 in Gothenburg. Since then, Assbring has released her lo-fi folk pop on two albums, Look! It’s El Perro del Mar and a self-titled follow up on Swedish label Hybris. This year, she released a third full-length, From the Valley to the Stars on the Licking Fingers label, home to The Concretes.
