When it comes to playing any console or handheld video games, I’ve always found it easier on the eyes to play the omniscient or bird’s eye view.  So being that FPS are out of the question, games like Halo, Bioshock or Call of Duty just wouldn’t make it in my rotation.  Here’s an entertaining mockumentary about a guy named Gene who’s motor skills are limited to those of an FPS character.  Despite this video is purely for entertainment value, I am curious if anyone has slipped and made FPS-like swapping gestures in the kitchen.

Inspired by Street Fighter and possibly Mortal Kombat is an eye opening approach at making consumers aware of lifestyle store, Harvey Nichol’s huge sale.  The article of clothing on the characters are actual pieces like Rodarte dresses and Alexander McQueen suits.  I don’t know about the sale, but this ad by DDB London makes me wish there was a flash based game available online.

Following the success of the Shadowloo Collection, is another Street Fighter and Triumvir collabo project, the World Warrior Collection.  After the numerous shirts featuring Vega, Balrog, Sagat and other Shadowloo characters, the second collection entails pieces with Ryu, Gouki, Ken, Dhalsim, etc.  Currently, the Shadowloo collection also consists of denim, outerwear and hats.  You can bet your author will be drawing blood or pawning something to buying a piece or four.

Well it seems like I’m one of the few that haven’t caught on to these dudes yet and if you haven’t yet either then fret not. The Mega 64 crew is best known for doing video game parodies, essentially they take wacky video game plots, character traits and apply them to real life. And Oh!My!God! are these hilarious. Mega 64: Street Fighter Car Scene

A bit over a year ago, we learned that Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk will take on the role as Chun Li.  Recently, a Japanese trailer to the movie has been uploaded on Youtube.  From a first glance, I was able to recognize Robin Shou from Mortal Kombat and Michael Clarke Duncan from Sin City and the Green Mile.  But a quick IMDB search, Taboo from B.E.P. is revealed to play Vega.  Although, video game to silver screen translations aren’t always top flight, this should be fun to watch regardless.

I have no idea when this is coming out, what console or if it will even reach a console. But imagine Super Smash Brothers detuned. Then add in characters from other games like Master Chief, Cloud, Heihachi or Chun Li. And finally in a 2-d platform. More info can be read here, although its in spanish. I’d like to see this on the DS, but of course without any legal issues. Just wishful thinking…
