Production tandem Guns N Bombs beat the bloghaus types to the punch by
signing with trés chic French label Kitsuné late in 2006 (and on a MySpace
message no less). Their rip-snorting “Nothing Is Getting Us Anywhere” shredded U.S. dancefloors throughout 2007, with its desperate robot vocals and a sawtooth router bit. Formed by Ima Robot bassist Filip Turbotito and Chicago DJ Johnny Love, they have already remixed tracks from Klaxons and Chromeo. A forthcoming album, not picked up by a label so far, should make a serious impact on the culture of U.S.-bred dance music. Of course, neither Love nor Turbotito were born inside our borders (Italy and Denmark, respectively).

I was wondering when these guys will make an east coast appearance.  I first discovered Guns N’ Bombs from listening to Kitsune Maison’s podcast.  Johnny “Guns” Love was hosting Kitsune’s 4th compilation mixtape.  Not only did I get my first taste of what Kitsune is all about, I was entertained by Johnny Love’s comments.  Anyway, they’ll be headlining for Tax Lo’s return to Sonar.  Be there.  I highly recommend going to see these guys perform.  If you live in VA or DC, the drive may be a bit far.  Keep this in mind though, an $8 dollars cover for Guns N’ Bombs along with resident djs Dave Nada, Simon Phoenix, Cullen Stalin and Chris O. That sure beats paying $20, suffer high dollar drinks and a dress code to see Steve Aoki at DC’s own Lotus Lounge.  No hate on Steve Aoki, just wish he threw down at Rock and Roll Hotel instead.
