Really, Spain?
In what is being explained as a playful “wink” to one of their Chinese sponsors, the Spanish national basketball team (including Raptor, Jose Manuel Calderon and Laker, Pau Gasol) made “Chinese eyes” for a full page ad in Spain’s best selling newspaper.
Calderon attempted to defend the team shot, explaining, “…we have great respect for the Orient and its people, some of my best friends in Toronto are of Chinese origin.”
Chinese officials responded by putting peepee in the team’s Coke.
