Here is another collaboration between Shepard Fairey and war photojournalist, Al Rockoff. It’s definitely been awhile since Obey prints came out at a set date and time. This print is due to be available this Thursday at 12pm PST. With a run of 450 units and $50 each, F5 hell may not be that bad this coming Thursday.
So I was completely oblivious to this awesome collabo print by Shepard Fairey and Billy Idol. Now market price is no less than $200 on ebay as opposed to the retail price of $50 on debut. If you missed out like I did, you could always settle for the recently released cd, Idolize Yourself. The cd art of course was also done by Shepard Fairey. In the meantime, check the back for my all time favorite Billy Idol single.
For every trip up to Reed Space, I always pick up an Arkitip and contemplate copping an issue. Then the price tag scares me away. Issue #44 will change that. As the packaged goody this time is a Arkitip x Nike x Wood Wood ViewMaster. I honestly don’t remember how old I was when I had one. Included with the magazine and ViewMaster are 3 slides commemorating the Highmath 2008 exhibition with works from Shepard Fairey, Parra, Geoff McFetridge, Evan Hecox, etc. The magazine itself serves as a catalog for the exhibition. Being that I’m a sucker for art and toys, I have no excuse not to buy an issue now. Currently, Reed Space and TTL offers issue #44.
I believe with great conviction that Barack Obama should be the next President. I have been paying close attention to him since the Democratic convention in 2004. I feel that he is more a statesman than a politician. He was against the war when it was an unpopular position (and Hillary was for the war at that time), Obama is for energy and environmental conservation. He is for healthcare reform. Check him out for yourself www.barackobama.com. Proceeds from this print go to produce prints for a large statewide poster campaign.
Thanks.

Anyone interested in helping out please email info@obeygiant.com with OBAMA as the Subject Title for instructions. This screenprint is 24 X 36, edition of 350. Available next Wednesday, January 30th.
It looks like not only Obama girl wants him to win. Shepard is wholeheartedly supporting Barack Obama as well. The new blue and red colorway is a nice change for 2008. This print of the democratic candidate will be available Wednesday.
