Shaun Boothe is back with the fifth installment of his Unauthorized Biography series, where he freestyles the life and times of the subject of the month. This fifth volume brings us the life and times of musician great Jimi Hendrix. If you’ve missed the previous volumes, check them all out here.

On Saturday February 21st, Canada’s very own Kardinal Offishall rolled into town with opening MC Shaun Boothe, also a fellow Canadian. We were fortunate enough to be invited by Live Nation to attend the event. The night started off a slightly delayed, but the venue was definitely getting packed in and there was a semi-Caribbean vibe to it all.

Shaun Boothe kicked things off by welcoming everybody with his rendition of the Canadian National Anthem, which starts off in the manner that we’re all familiar with but quickly changes to a hip-hop version with bangin’ beats. For those not familiar with Shaun Boothe, he’s best known as a dope freestyler, as well he’s known for his “Unauthorized Biography” series, which not only Killahbeez, but thousands of hip-hop blogs out there have given love to as it is one of the most creative things out there, if you’ve never seen it, then check it here. On this night we were treated to him doing the “Unauthorized biography of Bob Marley”, which is the second one in the series. He also dropped his joint “The Reporter” on all the heads out there, check out the music video for the song. His set would end on that note.

Moments went by, when the lights dimmed and the heads in the house knew that Kardinal was about to hit the stage. For all of you that don’t know or have never seen Kardinal Offishall live, well then, let me just tell you this ain’t your average hip-hop concert, as Kardi is known to get live and keep the energy up throughout the whole show. Tonight was no different. He came out hitting folks from all sorts of angles with his energy and quickly going through his rhymes only to switch it up briefly to M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes”, and members of the Black Jays, Ro Dolla and Solitaire, joining him on stage as his hypemen. From there they went into CLASSIC Kardi joints such as “Money Jane”, which the original track featured Sean Paul, and doing his chorus on the hood anthem by the Clipse “Grindin’”.

From there he would hit the crowd with tracks from his current album Not 4 Sale. Pretty much getting the crowd wildin’ as he dropped “Burnt” and “Numba 1″. He would honestly keep the crowd live all night, as he once again changed it up and had his DJ change up the pace and play a medley of hip-hop joints such as DMX’s “Party Up”, Bell Biv Devo’s “Poison”, Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop” and a few other tracks.

There was no doubt fans of Kardi were leaving the concert satisfied this evening, because like always he brought an energy that is generally lacking at live hip-hop shows. The timing is impeccable on the latest edition of Shaun Boothe’s Unauthorized Biography. This time around the MC schools us on the story  of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and even touches on the transition of leadership to America’s next president Barack Obama.

Props to Shaun Boothe for yet another lesson on the life and accomplishments of one of the world’s most interesting people.

Ladies and gentlemen, he’s baaaaack. Shaun Boothe returns for the third installment of his “Unauthorized Biography” series, which was inspired by Nas’s “Unauthorized Biography of Rakim”. Boothe started off the series with James Brown, then worked his way to Bob Marley and now he’s onto Muhammad Ali. I was impressed with the first two, but am utterly blown away with this one. Seriously he spits some hard game on this one. So check this out for yourself.

The next installment will be about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama. Should be fire.

Another supremely dope installment in Shaun Boothe’s Unauthorized Biography Series is now available for your personal enlightenment and viewing pleasure.

The first time around Shaun Boothe gave us the life story of music icon James Brown’s in a little under 4 minutes. This time he schools the masses on the inspirational life of Bob Marley – and does it damn well I might add.

I’m really down with this. Watch, listen and learn ya’ll.

DAMMMN! Had to start this post off with that. My mans AJK sent this through to me and I didn’t think too much of it initially, mostly because my time has been strapped this week with lots going on and thus the reason for me not being able to check this out. But get this, Shaun Boothe is picking up where Nas left off with his “Unauthorized Biography of Rakim” and is attempting to do a bio series which will consist of 12 video bios of 12 icons in 12 months.

The first one Boothe is hitting you folks with is “Unauthorized Biography of James Brown”, yes the God Father of soul and let me tell you all right now, Boothe kills it. He strategically rhymes about Brown’s life in chronological order and tells a great story while he’s at it. There’s also a video that goes along with the song. So check it out for yourself and get learned and while you’re at it, the next chapter will be on Bob Marley, so hit up Shaun Boothe’s MySpace page and stay tuned to the rest of this series dropping.
