Our friends, Vettig & Morsig, from Amsterdam have sent in another contagious mixtape. If you all recall, I’ve featured DJ Tron back in March. Seven mixtapes later and we have another stellar mix with tracks by SebastiAn, Daft Punk, Boys Noize, etc. The real icing on the cake is Erol Alkan’s remix of Sweet Dreams. On a side note, I’m wondering if there is a numeric and name theme going on. DJ Tron’s debut was #7 and the latest is #14. And keeping up with the “Dirty and Greasy” beats theme, this one is conveniently named Lard and Loops. Maybe I should ask Milan before jumping to any conclusions.
As always the track listing is provided on the back for avid mp3 single collectors and the zSHARE is here.
The RIPOFF’s sophomore party may only be a few days away. But one half of THE RIPOFF, Chris Houston, dropped this spring time mixtape for all to download. Mixtapes are a tried and true method of brand marketing and promoting. And everybody loves music. Listen to the Imeem stream below and download it here. As for the party, arrive early. The Ripoff’s new home at the Geisha lounge has premium spacing. See you all there this Wednesday.
Seeing this flyer makes me want to end myself for not living in the BK. $8 for SebastiAn is a steal. Add in the other headliners and a live performance by The Shoes. I’m hurting inside right now. On a side note, its good to see SebastiAn is back for a US gig. Busy P had announced SebastiAn would be hitting up a lot of studio time for 2008. With that said, I thought it would take at least another six months before he came out to spin stateside. Hit play below to hear Dog. If you’re like me, you’re already itching for Ed Record Volume 3.
May 19th 2008, marks the release date of Ed Banger Records Vol. 3. SebastiAn’s mystery single, ‘untitled’, has been floating around the blogosphere for awhile now. There are two things that I’m wondering: A) will Motor be the final name of the track and b) will it be part of this album.
Also, make the leap to the back end to see some pics I took from Justice’s DC performance at 9:30 Club. In attendance were Busy P, So Me, and of course Gaspard and Xavier of Justice. I’m not sure why Fancy cancelled. Instead, Wale filled in the gap between Busy P and Justice’s performance. After a few shameless self plugs, the dj that accompanied Wale threw in their remix of D.A.N.C.E. to set things off. Big ups to Wale though, he just got signed onto Interscope.
When I saw this mix on Kidz By Colette, it was a no brainer dl. Kitsune Maison, Ed Banger and DFA and mixed by both Digitalism and Cajuan? The Hercules and Love Affair track also helped seal the deal. Listen to the mix below and dl it here. Also, a track listing is on the back side. Off topic, I’m curious as to why hasn’t SebastiAn given a name to his new track yet.
