<p>Brooklyn DJ, <strong>DJ Jayceeoh</strong>, is back with volume 2 of his Super 7 mixtape series. Like the previous, this one is banging and features DJ’s Fashen (PHX), Spider (LA), Bladerunners (BOS), <a title="DJ Illo" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/tag/dj-illo/" target="_self">Illo</a> (Ottawa), Excel (PHI), and Vin Sol (SF). If this is the first time your ears have been blessed with this series, the way it works is there&#8217;s 7 DJs, each dropping a 10 minute set of their original remixes, edits, blends, etc and fuses the world of hip-hop with electro and an array of other goodness. Too many favorite edits on this to name, the whole damn thing is RIDICULOUS!</p>
<p>Full Track List Below.</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s a new collaboration between two Vancouver ventures, <strong>Finale Design</strong> and <strong>The Urban Renewal Project</strong>. Together they&#8217;ve put together a t-shirt and mixtape package for all you hip-hop heads out there as it shows love to the culture. As mentioned the package also includes a mixtape which is mixted by DJ Sage of the Urban Renewal Project. The front of the shirt (pictured above) features some of the dopest DJs in the history and if you didn&#8217;t know who the four DJs are, they are <strong>DJ Premier</strong>, <strong>Eric B</strong>, <strong>Pete Rock</strong> and <strong>DJ Jazzy Jeff</strong>. The back of the shirt (pictured below) features the MCs that worked in tandem with these DJs and they include <strong>Guru</strong>, <strong>Rakim</strong>, <strong>C.L. Smooth</strong> and <strong>Will Smith</strong>. Pretty fresh design. To cop the shirt hit up <a title="Urban Renewal Project" href="http://www.urbanrenewalproject.net" target="_blank">www.urbanrenewalproject.net</a>.</p>

<p>Ladies and gentlemen, he&#8217;s baaaaack. <strong>Shaun Boothe</strong> returns for the third installment of his &#8220;Unauthorized Biography&#8221; series, which was inspired by Nas&#8217;s &#8220;Unauthorized Biography of Rakim&#8221;. Boothe started off the series with James Brown, then worked his way to Bob Marley and now he&#8217;s onto <strong>Muhammad Ali</strong>. I was impressed with the first two, but am utterly blown away with this one. Seriously he spits some hard game on this one. So check this out for yourself.</p>
<p>The next installment will be about <strong>Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.</strong> and <strong>Barack Obama</strong>. Should be fire.</p>
<p>If you missed the first two catch them below.</p>

<p>DAMMMN! Had to start this post off with that. My mans AJK sent this through to me and I didn&#8217;t think too much of it initially, mostly because my time has been strapped this week with lots going on and thus the reason for me not being able to check this out. But get this, Shaun Boothe is picking up where Nas left off with his &#8220;Unauthorized Biography of Rakim&#8221; and is attempting to do a bio series which will consist of 12 video bios of 12 icons in 12 months.</p>
<p>The first one Boothe is hitting you folks with is &#8220;Unauthorized Biography of James Brown&#8221;, yes the God Father of soul and let me tell you all right now, Boothe kills it. He strategically rhymes about Brown&#8217;s life in chronological order and tells a great story while he&#8217;s at it. There&#8217;s also a video that goes along with the song. <p>New video for Lloyd&#8217;s single <strong>&#8220;Girls Around The World&#8221;</strong>. The song features some raps by Weezy aka <strong>Lil Wayne</strong> and is off of the upcoming album from <strong>Lloyd</strong> called <em><strong>Lessons in Love</strong></em>. Video directed by Hype Williams, if you don&#8217;t know who dude is then you need to hit <a title="Hype Williams" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hype_Williams" target="_blank">wikipedia</a> and get your learn on. Gotta say Lloyd with long straightened hair, kinda scary. Just puttin&#8217; that shit out there. This song definitely has a feel and cross between <a title="Eric B &amp; Rakim's Paid in Full" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukwwSOPvhW8" target="_blank">Eric B &amp; Rakim&#8217;s &#8220;Paid in Full&#8221;</a> beat with <a title="112 Dance With Me" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JOzZZlgw1M" target="_blank">112&#8217;s &#8220;Dance With Me&#8221;</a> melodies. Listen to Slim&#8217;s melodics on that 112 song and tell me Lloyd ain&#8217;t copying it. But yo this song is pretty hot so I gotta give it up.</p>

<p>So a bit of a change up to our <strong><a href="http://www.killahbeez.com/tag/throwback-thursday/" target="_self">Throwback Thursday</a></strong>. In the past we would post a current Hip Hop or RnB song and post the sample after the jump. We&#8217;ll continue to do that here and there, but we decided it was time to update the format a bit and post old song joints that we enjoyed back in the day on the <strong><a href="http://www.killahbeez.com/tag/throwback-thursday/" target="_self">Throwback Thursday</a></strong> posts. With that said the format will be intro&#8217;d this week.</p>
<p>The early &#8217;90s brought us some great movies, <em><strong>New Jack City</strong></em>,<em><strong> Menace II Society </strong></em>and<em><strong> Juic</strong><strong>e</strong></em> to name a few. With these great movies came great soundtracks, unlike today, movie soundtracks were actually really good. My favorite all time soundtrack was and still is Juice. Personal favorites off that soundtrack included <strong>Naughty by Nature&#8217;s &#8220;Uptown Anthem&#8221;</strong>,<strong> Eric B &amp; Rakim&#8217;s &#8220;Juice&#8221;</strong>,<strong> Cypress Hill&#8217;s &#8220;Shoot&#8217;em Up&#8221; and Teddy Riley &amp; Tammy Lucas &#8220;Is It Good To You&#8221;</strong>. That song is still one of my favorites to this day. The New Jack Swing era&#8230;ahhhh those were the days. Check the video and go back in a time warp to 1992. This version is actually different then the soundtrack version as the beat is slightly switched up and this version also features Wreckx-N-Effect</p>

<p>Alright, so most of ya&#8217;ll know I was just down in NYC for some r &amp; r and to catch the <a href="http://www.rockthebells.net" target="_blank"><strong>Rock the Bells concert</strong></a>. The trip overall was fairly relaxing and chilled, so mission accomplished there. I also wanted to holla at some of the shop owners about this blog, again mission accomplished there. Although I was only able to hit a handful of shops, but hey the vibe was positive.</p>
<p>So for a recap of the actual concert click on the jump below and have a read. Pictures attached as well and trust me, you gonna wanna see these bitches.</p>
<p><span id="more-668"></span></p>
<p>The concert was mad tight. There must&#8217;ve been 8,000 + easily. The weather started off nice but then it rained like a sunavabiatch. I and everyone else off course were soaked head to fuckin&#8217; toe, but that didn&#8217;t sour peoples&#8217; attitudes. The music vibes were good.</p>
<p>Hosting the concert was Supernatural, holds world record for the longest freestyle and if you think it&#8217;s 9 mins or 1 hour then you my friend are wrong. The world record is 9 hours held by this man, rhymin&#8217; off his muthaphukkin&#8217; dome. Throughout the night he would flex those skills as well. Rahzel, the legendary human beat box machine was the co-host.</p>
<p><a title="Supernatural and Rahzel" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/001-supernatural-and-rahzel.JPG"><img title="Supernatural and Rahzel" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/001-supernatural-and-rahzel.JPG" alt="Supernatural and Rahzel" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>The first act that I caught was the legendary, and I&#8217;m gonna be using that word a fuckin&#8217; lot cus I was at the main stage which featured alot of &#8220;legendary&#8221; acts, while stage B, which I&#8217;m sad to say I didn&#8217;t visit featured more up and coming cats.</p>
<p>So back to what I was sayin&#8217; the <strong>BOOT CAMP CLIK</strong> came out and just uplifted and rocked the fuckin&#8217; crowd. Hits were performed by Heltah Skeltah, although only 1 member was there, Smif and Wessun aka Cocoa Brovaz, and the OGC, Originoo Gun Clapaz.</p>
<p><a title="Boot Camp Clik" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/004-boot-camp-clik.JPG"><img title="Boot Camp Clik" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/004-boot-camp-clik.JPG" alt="Boot Camp Clik" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Boot Camp Clik" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/009-boot-camp-clik.JPG"><img title="Boot Camp Clik" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/009-boot-camp-clik.JPG" alt="Boot Camp Clik" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Boot Camp Clik" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/011-boot-camp-clik.JPG"><img title="Boot Camp Clik" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/011-boot-camp-clik.JPG" alt="Boot Camp Clik" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>Up next was <strong>Pharoahe Monch</strong>, former member of the classic group Organized Konfusion. He came and rocked his set with a live band, this was mos def a refreshing take for a hip hop act and so very few acts actually are brave enough to do this. But it came off popping. He kept the crowd hype, but as soon as the base line for <strong>Simon Says </strong>people went straight bananas.</p>
<p><a title="Pharoahe Monch" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/021-pharoahe-monch.JPG"><img title="Pharoahe Monch" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/021-pharoahe-monch.JPG" alt="Pharoahe Monch" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>Up next was another intelligent MC by the name of <strong>Talib Kweli</strong>. He came out and just shook the muthaphukkin&#8217; place with his classics <strong>Get by, Get &#8216;em high </strong>and etc. But at one point in his set he actually just stopped rockin&#8217; it. Why you ask. Cus some stupid ass muthaphukka did the most disrespectful shit. They threw a bottle of urine up on stage, that shit is straight disgusting and filthy. Anyways after addressing that shit he went back on to his set. At this point <strong>Mos Def</strong> was suppose to join him on stage as well, at least that&#8217;s what the program guide said, but that was not so.</p>
<p><a title="Talib Kweli" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/025-talib-kweli.JPG"><img title="Talib Kweli" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/025-talib-kweli.JPG" alt="Talib Kweli" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>So up next was suppose to be <strong>Rakim </strong>and after like a 20 &#8211; 30 min downtime <strong>Supernatural </strong>came out and told us that someone was comin&#8217; out. Next thing you know, <strong>Mos Def</strong> comes on stage and performs his ass off and the crowd was chanting his name. Part way through his set, everybody there witnessed the reunion of <strong>Blackstar</strong>, as <strong>Talib </strong>joined him on stage and they did their classic joints together.</p>
<p><a title="Mos Def" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/027-mos-def.JPG"><img title="Mos Def" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/027-mos-def.JPG" alt="Mos Def" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Blackstar" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/029-blackstar.JPG"><img title="Blackstar" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/029-blackstar.JPG" alt="Blackstar" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>Mos Def was enjoyin&#8217; himself so much that concert organizers had to cut him off and tell him his time was up. He appreciated the crowd&#8217;s energy and vice versa.</p>
<p>Next act the GOD himself, <strong>RAKIM</strong> with <strong>Dj Kid Capri</strong> on the 1&#8217;s and 2&#8217;s. Rakim performed all his classics from his Eric B &amp; Rakim days did some joints off of his 18th letter album.</p>
<p><a title="Rakim" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/030-rakim.JPG"><img title="Rakim" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/030-rakim.JPG" alt="Rakim" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Rakim and Kid Capri" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/033-rakim-and-kid-capri.JPG"><img title="Rakim and Kid Capri" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/033-rakim-and-kid-capri.JPG" alt="Rakim and Kid Capri" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>Everybody waited patiently for the next act and the setup took awhile, but as soon as people saw the Buddah receive air and was propped on stage, heads knew it was time for some hits from the bong. <strong>Cypress Hill</strong> came out to some crazy and I mean crazy love. Doing their hits insane in the brain, and my favs <strong>Shoot &#8216;em up</strong>, and <strong>How I Could Just Kill a Man</strong>. They were entertaining as shit and when hit the stage they took the crowd up 10 levels. At one point <strong>B-Real</strong> stops the performance and you hear the song <strong>&#8220;Mary Jane&#8221; by Rick James</strong> playing. He pulls out the biggest fuckin&#8217; joint I&#8217;ve seen and lights it up on stage and proceeds to smoke it. <strong>Zen Dog</strong> then comes and takes a hit and almost looses it. He&#8217;s hackin&#8217; like a mofo.</p>
<p><a title="Cypress Hill" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/034-cypress-hill.JPG"><img title="Cypress Hill" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/034-cypress-hill.JPG" alt="Cypress Hill" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Cypress Hill" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/038-cypress-hill.JPG"><img title="Cypress Hill" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/038-cypress-hill.JPG" alt="Cypress Hill" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Cypress Hill" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/041-cypress-hill.JPG"><img title="Cypress Hill" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/041-cypress-hill.JPG" alt="Cypress Hill" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>Up next on the bill was the legendary <strong>Public Enemy</strong>. <strong>Chuck D</strong> and <strong>Flava Flav</strong> came and rocked the crowd. At one point they both jumped out into the crowd and worked their way to back of the front section. Showin&#8217; love to all the heads out there. I forgot to mention that all night artists were on the political tip as everyone made comments about how Bush is fuckin&#8217; up the country and sayin&#8217; fuck Guiliani and fuck the police. So it all went in line and led up to Public Enemy.</p>
<p><a title="Public Enemy Chuck D" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/046-public-enemy.JPG"><img title="Public Enemy Chuck D" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/046-public-enemy.JPG" alt="Public Enemy Chuck D" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Public Enemy Flava Flav" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/049-public-enemy.JPG"><img title="Public Enemy Flava Flav" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/049-public-enemy.JPG" alt="Public Enemy Flava Flav" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>Next was the main event. Well the main event for me. I was there for the muthaphukkin&#8217; <strong>Wu</strong>. There was one more act after this and it was <strong>Rage</strong>, but I wasn&#8217;t there for that even though I love me a lil&#8217; <strong>Guerilla Radio</strong> and <strong>Killin&#8217; in the Name</strong>.</p>
<p>The Wu did not disappoint at all. They straight rocked the house, people were rappin&#8217; along and chanting Wu-tang and throwin&#8217; up the W&#8217;s like this group never left. They were doin&#8217; it big, givin&#8217; every member their time to shine with their hits, first it was <strong>Bring the Pain</strong>, then it was <strong>Incarcerated Scarfaces</strong>, then it was <strong>Liquid Swords</strong> and it went on and on. The group did some classic shit too obviously like <strong>Wu-tang Clan ain&#8217;t nuthin&#8217; to fuck wit</strong>, <strong>CREAM</strong>, <strong>Protect ya neck</strong>, <strong>it&#8217;s Yourz</strong>, <strong>Pinky Ring aka Uzi</strong> and a ton of other joints. They then did <strong>Shame on a Ni**a</strong>, where they ALL performed and did all of <strong>ODB&#8217;s</strong> lyrics and then from that it went straight to <strong>Tearz</strong>. They were pullin&#8217; out classics all night long and they ended it with a preview of the upcoming joint from the <strong>8 Diagrams</strong> album. The only one that I didn&#8217;t see there was <strong>Ghostface Killah</strong>.</p>
<p>That alone was well worth the trip to NYC.</p>
<p><a title="Wu-Tang Clan" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/050-wu-tang.JPG"><img title="Wu-Tang Clan" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/050-wu-tang.JPG" alt="Wu-Tang Clan" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Wu-Tang Clan" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/058-wu-tang.JPG"><img title="Wu-Tang Clan" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/058-wu-tang.JPG" alt="Wu-Tang Clan" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p><a title="Wu-Tang Clan" href="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/060-wu-tang.JPG"><img title="Wu-Tang Clan" src="http://www.killahbeez.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/060-wu-tang.JPG" alt="Wu-Tang Clan" width="566" height="425" /></a></p>
<p>This was definitely a concert not to be missed. I&#8217;m lookin&#8217; forward to next years Rock the Bells tour.</p>
<p>One.</p>
