Here’s the first video for Common’s first single “Universal Mind Control” which features Pharrell Williams. This is off of his 8th studio album which was originally called Invincible Summer when the original release date was in the Summer, but has since been renamed to Universal Mind Control and is now scheduled to drop on November 11th. This video is directed by the renowned Hype Williams, but in all honesty I have to say this video has a very SUV commercial feel to it. I dunno, I keep expecting to see a Honda Element or a Ford Flex driving through a shot.
New video from Common featuring Pharrell Williams for the single “Announcement”. The single is listed on Common’s eighth studio effort Invincible Summer, which is set to be release September 22nd. The track is produced by The Neptunes and is directed by Canadian music video director Lil X. Lil X is a protege oh Hype Williams and has been in this game for a minute now, doing videos for Jay-Z, Sean Paul, Aaliyah, Kardinal Offishall and Usher to name a few. The video has a minimalistic feel throughout.
Following their first single “Everyone Nose” off their 2008 album Seeing Sounds, N.E.R.D has released (although not officially) a second single and video to accompany it, “Spazz.”
The video for their first single was pretty much just footage of coked-up hipster kids partying (a la the Cobrasnake). “Spazz,” which made its way onto Yahoo! Music today, is shot in black and white and seems to draw its footage from one of their concerts. Nothing too special to report here, and it’s startin’ to look like making a N.E.R.D video is pretty easy. Hey, Pharrell, hit me up for your next vid! Haha.
Take a look at the video for yourself and tell us what you think of it.
Here’s Teyana Taylor’s video for her single “Google Me”. Signed to Star Trak and Interscope records and is a prodigy of Pharrell Williams. But she’s best known for her episode on MTV’s show Sweet 16.
