Taking inspiration from the Nike Air Raid is a Japanese brand, AG’s ‘Raiders GTS Boot‘.  The Air Raid was and still is a sneaker that broke necks since the early 90’s with its ‘x’ strap.  Now take that ‘x’ strap and revamp the entire sneaker with a vulcanized sole, metal eyelets as well as premium leather and you’ve got a handsome lifestyle sneaker. Currently these are only available at Rowgage.

Once again the perforated swoosh look makes an appearance.  This time, the Nike Air Force One receives the ‘Work Boot‘ treatment with metal grommets, boot laces and a rugged upper.  And I LOVE IT.  My only wish is that with the additional name of ‘Supreme‘ tied to this forces, shouldn’t they have a snazzier sole?  I’m sure I’m not the only one wondering this.  We’ll keep an eye out for sure though.

Last year I disclosed how much I love the Air Max 90 Current.   Shortly after the release of the infrared, a triple pack came out with personal touches from designers, Ben Drury, Kevin Lyons and Hitomi Yokoyama.  A year has passed and Ben Drury has been invited to work on yet another pair of Air Max 90 Currents.  The above pair comes with a plethora of textures including metal “d” lace eyelets, perforated suede, a mesh toe box and boot style laces.  Finally, the tongue receives stitching that reads “Trust Me” on the right shoe and “London” on the left.  Besides the 2006 exhibition of the same name, I’m wondering why these AM90 Currents have the same slogan.  Each element blends really well together with its mainly blue and black colorway.  The Ben Drury Air Max 90 Currents are available now at Nike Sportswear @ 21 mercer St.

Perforated and stitched swooshes seem to be the theme for the latter quarter of 2009 for Nike.  But I say keep them coming.  The latest silhouette to receive this treatment are the Nike Terminator Highs.  The rustic leather and red laces give out off a winter ready statement.  However, I feel Nike should’ve assigned the Terminators a 0.44 sticky rubber midsole.  They are currently available at select Nike Sportswear accounts.

We already get plenty of blog teasing from JD Sports and their many wonderful Air Max collabo sneakers.  Recently, Uniform Experiment worked with Nike on a variant of the “Special Force” boots.  These were originally intended for our troops.  With that in mind, noticeable is the Nike Free sole.  But include Kevlar sheath, premium uppers and Natural Motion Cushioning units and you’ve got yourself a very technical boot.  As a part of this collabo, Uniform Experiment and Nike are also offering a brief case with the same design cues.  Here comes the bad news.  Unless you’re near a Soph or Isetan brick and mortar, these will not available anywhere else.

Nike amazes us with a new look for the Air Zoom Toki.  Instead of an all perforated leather upper, this time its the swoosh that gets the holey treatment.  The minimal wine colored upper along with brown piping also adds to the Air Zoom Toki’s mature look.  These quickstrikes are due to release very shortly at Nike Sportswear quickstrike accounts.

With winter slowing creep up, its nice to know Nike’s ACG line has a new colorway for the Air Max Abasi boots.  With elements taken from the Safari printed AM90 boots and the Air Max 180, these Air Max Abasi’s are tough.  I simply love the nubuck olive green with carbon fiber accents.  As of right now, theres a limited amount of sizes available at Mad C in Japan.  But I’m sure a lot of us are hoping that some local quickstrike account will get them soon.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve really taken a liking to the Nike Air Classic BW. Not that I’ve lost any love for the Air Max 90s or 95’s. But any sneakerhead would agree its good to have options. The above pair which consists of Halloween colorways of black, neon orange and white was recently made available at JD Sports. However, unless you’re near a boutique that has an account with JD Sports or live near the sports culture chain in the UK, its just nearly impossible to score a pair.

The Selby just recently wrapped a shoot campaign with Nike 6.0 and they’ve posted a bunch of the images on their website, essentially a sample of his favorites. In a quick message he writes that he “traveled to Tahiti, Georgia, Florida, NJ and Brooklyn to shoot some of Nike 6.0’s top athletes in their environments.” The results as you can see are pretty dope. This year we saw a reincarnation of the Nike Air Trainer 1.  And with that in mind, Nike has produced a limited number of the retro AT1’s along with its younger sibling.  Arriving in select Nike accounts this week is the re-release of the Retro AT1’s.  Considering I’ve been on a personal mission to collect the original colorways to a lot of my favorite Nike Running and Training, this is great news.  Now if I find out the Neon Europe only releases are being brought here, I wouldn’t know how to contain myself.  The AT1 ‘Chlorophyll’s drop this Saturday and Ubiq will carry them.

With Halloween around the corner, we’ll be seeing more festive releases from Nike and Nike SB.  One such would be this pair of ‘Blood Splatter‘ Nike SB Blazer.  The upper consists mainly of white canvas and suede with of course splashes of red here and there.  With the given colorways of white, grey and red, I can see this pair worn all year round w/o being pinpointed as a “Halloween” only sneaker.  The Nike SB Blazer ‘Blood Splatter’ drops this month.

On a side note, I’m reminded of Luke Chueh’s artwork everytime I take a look at the Blazers.  Anyone else agree?

Ever since its summer 09 inception, I was hoping for a boot like theme  for the Nike Air Royal Mid.  And here’s the answer to my prayers.  The Air Royal Mid now also comes in a deep burgundy and black or wine and deep burgundy upper.  Finishing touches include metal eyelets and a sneaker bag.  They are now readily available at select Nike Sportswear accounts.

First of all, I want to credit Gavin Thompson for exposing this gem on Twitter.  Adrian Riemann is the artist responsible for a fashion forward approach to the 80’s cartoon, Master of the Universe.   Like all of us here at Killahbeez, Adrian is into mature streetwear and hipster fashion.  Imagine Evil-Lyn wearing Zara and American Apparel or Beast Man sporting a pair of RAF Simons sneakers and Surface 2 Air tee.  Well you get the idea.  See the gallery below for more of Adrian’s work.  According to his behance profile, he may take this to another level and create glow in the dark or fluorescent prints.  Hopefully, we’ll get to see them sooner than later.

Onitsuka Tiger’s latest silhouette has takes a bit of inspiration from Nike’s hybrid methodologies.  From an initial inspection (via the web only), my thoughts were how next-level the sole looked.  When in fact, this is borrowed from a retro pair of Asics Onitsuka Tiger ‘Tug of War’ circa 1982.  The above pair of ‘Tsunakihi‘ receives the chukka treatment on the upper with mainly black leather, nubuck mudguard and red accents.  I honestly can not wait for a stateside release.  However, if you can’t wait, Schuh You has them available.

Lately, I’ve been really feeling crocodile anything.  After seeing a pair of black croc Vans Chukka, the croc patterned Applebum 59Fifty and even the Meat Guy’s crocodile claws for bbq’ing, I feel like its a texture missing in my life.  The void ends here.  I am or rather will find these Nike Terminator “un-HTM”.  The retro hi top may feature a simple one-two colorway of black and white.  But the texture makes up for what would just be a simple statement.  I absolutely love the metal grommets that hold up the round laces common in current day Nike Running sneakers.   Hopefully, we’ll be seeing these in the States soon, as they are only available at NOS currently.

On a different note, if I can secure these, I’ll be on a two-peat with the Nike “un-” series.

In the past, we’ve seen Stussy team up with Vans, Nike and Dr. Martens.  Recently, Stussy La has set their eyes on Clae for a collabo project.  The above pair of Clae Kennedy has an all canvas upper with a navy base, thick beige piping and a leather heel Clae tag.  Other fine details include a red Clae tongue logo, what appears to be slightly waxed laces and a houndstooth sock liner.  Expect these to come out at the end of October in a very limited run of 100.

Back in June, we came across preview images of a new take of the Air Force 180.  The “Auto” in Auto Force 180 derives from Nike’s autoclave technology.  Outside of Nike land, its better known as vulcanizing.  Two versions were shown then, an NYC edition and an Olympic colorway.  If I recall correctly, both pairs are set to release before Holiday 2009.  What we have above are 3 new simple and clean colorways set to release in Summer of 2010.  Of the 3 pairs, I’m feeling the navy pair the most as I like my sneaker colorways to be as neutral as possible.  But I still can’t wait to get my feet onto one of the Holiday 2009 pairs.

Here’s a pair of Dunks that made me do a triple take.  The first glance was to admire the minimal colorway.  The second was to be swooned by its all canvas upper.  Finally, I had to make sure my vision was correct when I saw the vulcanized sole.  Vulcanization is a  popular technique found in lifestyle sneakers such as Converse and Vans.  Nike has adapted the vulcanized sole (although popularized already by the Nike Blazer) onto their hot selling silhouette, the Nike Dunk.  The Nike Dunk Hi AC (for autoclave) Tier Zero comes in two colorways of black or grey and will hit selection Tier Zero accounts this Saturday, September 5th.  It looks like a visit to 21 Mercer is on the agenda for this weekend.

Ever since the tier zero 3 Decades of Cushioning and Tech Pack Air Max 90’s, I’ve felt the need to own Nikes with a black base and contrasting accents.  From afar, the colorway combo may only consists of black and volt.  But take a closer look and you’ll see a splatter pattern was snuck into the outer ankle collar.  Theres no confirmed date of a US release, nor a seasonal time frame attached to it.  So we’ll all just have to keep our eyes peeled.  And its been a hot minute since I’ve bought any pair of Air Maxes.
