Cap Collector One x New Era

Posted on 19 September 2008 by Van

Cap Collector got together with New Era to produce this ostrich fitted.  I’m not entirely keen on the type used for the oversized “C”.  However, the tonal C-Collective embroidery on the back side is a good look.  Being a sucker for packaging, I’m also fond of the C-Collective box.  It may be a coincidence, but the packaging resembles the box to a bottle of Mont Blanc Presence.  This classy fitted comes in a limited run of 144 pieces and is available now at Cap Collector.

Fitted Friday: FreshJive x New Era Fairfax Collection

Posted on 16 May 2008 by Van

FreshJive recently released some new fitteds in two different patterns. One that has a back to basics feel and another for those that want a bit more texture. Being a plain jane guy, I’d normally settle for the plain bold text logo fitted in wool or mesh. But its hard not to want the “Fairfax Fighters” collection. Especially, when they come in complementary color ways and contrasting eyelets. They are now available at Reserve. For now, make the leap to see all color ways.

Fitted Fridays: Undrcrwn x New Era

I discovered Undrcrwn around the same time I got hooked onto 5th Platoon’s sound. Fast forward to the 2008, Undrcrwn has a handful of collaborations including a shirt with 5P to celebrate their ten years of existence. Above is one of the few New Era fitteds adorned with one of many of Undrcrwn’s logos. You can view the other fitteds from the Magic Trade Show on the backside. My personal favorite is the ball hog one.

However, I wanna give Undrcrwn the spotlight they deserve in this entry. No other company brings forth basketball sportswear to a level of luxury street wear like these guys. In a matter of three years, they went from t-shirts to sneakers to full on cut n’ sew. I can’t recall exactly what shirt I bought back in 05′, but it came in a cereal box. Jeremy Castro shot me an email informing me the black with gold foil cereal box was no longer available. He then proceeded to ask if I was down for such and such substitute. Being the easy guy I am, I accepted the counteroffer. The purpose of going off on a tangent is to point out that 1) Undrcrwn knows how to make proper basketball/street culture related apparel and 2) the company reigns in raving fan customer service. A hot product can only go so far. But when you add the personal touch like Jeremy did, you establish raving fan clientele.
