Yet another banger from my peoples Keys N Krates. This time around its Mos Def’s classic “Miss Fat Booty”.
The clip is a really short one shot by a seemingly drunk fan at their big return home to a sold out crowd @ Toronto’s Wrongbar.

One of Canada’s greatest new exports, Keys N Krates will be blessing their hometown of Toronto this Saturday June 21st at Wrongbar (1279 Queen St W. Doors @ 10pm, $10 cover). This is the first time they’ve been back home for a minute and considering what’s stirring at the moment, it could also be the last time they are back for some time. With a bunch of dope new material in addition to the joints that have already got them buzzing in the Americas, you definitely don’t wanna miss this show if you’re in the GTA. (Big ups to my man Brock on the dope flyer).

On Thursday night Vancouver was treated by a performance by Keys N Krates. If you’ve been followin’ Killahbeez.com for a minute, we’ve been hypin’ these dudes up and their live shows never fail to blow muthphukkas away. Performing their versions of Aaliyah’s “One in a Million”, Dre and Snoops “Next Episode” and Fugees “Fu-gee-la” amongst others. Check out their Youtube page for all the joints they do. They also performed an original joint that they put together called “Eye Know”, which we featured and can be seen here. The energy from both the crowd and group was crazy and never slowed down for one minute. Vancouver crowds are generally known for being quite weak at live shows, but that reputation was shaken last night. That’s my word. So if y’all get the chance to check these dudes out, please do and get ready to fuckin’ boogie. More pictures after the jump and more on our flickr page found here.

Those of ya’ll that missed out the first Keys N Krates show here a few months ago have surely heard from those who attended how great a show it was. Well they’re back and now is your chance to get up on it.
Everyone that saw them last time is attending again and I’d imagine they’ll be rolling deeper with those they’ve recomended it to this time around. I would suggest getting there relatively early to avoid disappointment - you can bet it’ll be busy
AJK the music snob highly approves and very much recommends…haha.

As you all know, I’m quite a fan of these dudes..and pretty much anyone thats doing something creative and progressive for music, regardless of genre.
We’ve all seen their remixes of classics by the Fugees, Aaliyah, Biggie, etc on their Keys N Krates TV channel on Youtube - but here is an upbeat original by them called Eye Know. If this composition is any indication of what they’re working on, you can pretty much considering them a solidified band now. The drums, synths and Steely Dan vocal cuts work together perfectly. The video clip is pretty dope too, but still raw and gives you a hint of what their live show is like.
Speaking of which, Keys N Krates will be back in Vancouver on Thursday May 29th at Barnone. Those of you who attended their show last time can attest to what a great vibe and party it was and I’m sure this time around will only be better.

Throughout the week you’ve been hit with a few snippets of the “Live Remixing” that Keys N Krates is all about.
If you reside in Vancouver, now is your chance to catch them live before they really start to blow up - permitting you to brag to all your friends that you were down with them waaaay back. In addition to a great night of music, those bragging rights make it that much more enticing, no?
The Keys N Krates tour is sponsored by Red Bull and this is the first time they’ll be performing outside of their hometown of Toronto - with one of their next big shows being the official 2008 Juno Awards after party being held in Calgary April 2008 which is being hosted by famed comedian Russell Peters this year.
Vancouverites get yourself down to Bar None tonight, you won’t regret it.

Attention Music Lovers!!
Ever wonder what your favorite tracks would sound like with a live band providing the instrumentation? Well picture that with a ridiculously talented and soulful dude on the keys and an ITF World Champion Dj on the cuts - hence the name Keys N Krates.
I’m gonna be hyping my peoples Dj Jr. Flo and Matisse all week for the Vancouver show at Bar None this Thursday February 28th at and pretty much on the regular from now on - so get used to it.
