Casual Looks for Fall

Posted on 12 October 2008 by atek

I love Fall weather. To keep warm, I like to mix and match pieces for a casual and comfortable look that features leather, pleather, bright colors, fringe and men’s inspired styles.

Mix and layer tops with cardigans and jackets during the day. For nights out on the town, flatter your waist by tucking in a fitted cami underneath a high waisted skirt. Wear skirts, dresses and loose tops with leggings or tights to complete the look - and keep your legs warm at night.

These are some of my favorite pieces for Fall:

1. Miss Sixty Ankle Boots

2. Marc Jacobs Neon Pink Handbag

3. Stussy Robot Necklace

4. Antik Batik Scarf

5. Goorin Brothers Fedora Hat

6. Giles for Evoke Jewelry

7. Insight Flannel Top

8. Juicy Couture Mini-Black Jacket

9. Urban Renewal Mens Inspired Blazer

10. Costume Dept. Leggings

11. Vanessa Bruna Fringe Bag

12. Haute Hippie Fringe Cardigan

Too Hot Not to Cop: Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Jacket

Posted on 16 September 2008 by Mona Alice Oakenfold

With fall just around the corner, it’s time to find the perfect jacket. And since you’ll look a bit ridiculous sweatin’ up a storm while bundled up in your favorite wool winter coat, you’ll want to find a jacket that will provide a sturdy shell while being light and still appropriate to wear on mild days. This Marc by Marc Jacobs Bow Jacket not only fits the ticket, but its perfect blend of mixing old with newer trends will have you lookin’ like the cutest girl on the block.

The jacket is a blue and black nylon, cotton, modal, spandex blend. Bows adorn a wide neckline and the overall shape is a cropped bubble, but a sturdy tweedy blend in a masculine color keeps this jacket from looking too girly and immature. The slanted front pockets also give this jacket more of a sweater/cardigan feel.

This jacket will look great with a pair of jeans and flats. And when the weather gets a bit colder, simply throw a bright, longsleeved knit underneath for a cozy daytime look. The jacket will also pair really nicely with the season’s continuing trend of high-waisted skirts, since the shorter hemline will show off anything you’re wearing underneath.

Even if it weren’t for the price, this Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket would be considered a great investment, as it isn’t too trendy and won’t be out of style by next year. So at a sale price of $201.60 at ShopBop, you’d have to be crazy not to cop this piece up!

Buy it HERE.

Never wrong when Marc is around

Posted on 26 July 2008 by Hallie Valentine

I do like Marc Jacobs and his funky, fun, and fabulous footwear. Here’s a perfect example of why. Fresh, saucy colours (check out shoes in orange and yellow after the jump) and patent, always my favourite. Note the thicker heel on the shoes above, which admittedly, is more stable then those thin, delicate stilettos. Heel thickness, however, comes and goes. At least with stilettos, you know they’ll be back. However, I’m still loving these babies for summer.

Clutch, don’t let go

Posted on 05 June 2008 by Hallie Valentine

Clutches tend to be cute, and not all that functional, so I tend to avoid them like the plague. After all, what good is a purse you can’t shove a camera, notebook, all your other junk, a change of shoes and a sweater into? Pretty much no good. But…. I think I would not be able to resist this quilted soft pouch by Marc Jacobs. The cute factor is killer and I love the simple style and well chosen colour contrast. If I had this one in my clutches, I probably wouldn’t let go.

Little blue dress

Forget the little black dress - grab this little navy blue dress by Marc Jacobs instead. Fitted, stylish and sexy, the cotton and silk blend bustier with tulle fan detailing is hot hot hot. I love the cut and hey, blue is beautiful.

Hot handbag from Marc Jacobs

Admittedly, I am a sucker for Marc Jacobs handbags - but this one I LOVE. The raspberry colour, the quilted leather, the buckle tie belt detail, it’s all lovable. It is the perfect spring/summer transition bag and it’s a pretty sweet colour too.
