Over the summer, we first caught a glance at Twelve South’s BookArc.  Here is the latest product by Twelve South that gave us a double take, the BookBook laptop sleeve.  Made to resemble a leather bound book, it gives a lot of MacBook Pro sleeves a run for their money with three layers of security.  Well actually two as it disguises your MacBook Pro and its hardback material further protects your investment.  BookBook is available now for 79.99 and comes in either black or vibrant red.  As a general announcement to MacBook users, this product is not recommended for the white MacBook due to discoloration.

Urghhhh! Someone put me outta my misery. The search for a new MacBook Pro sleeve continues. Yesterday I posted a great alternative. Well Google search has provided me with another gem, this time located right in my own backyard of Vancouver. The quest to find a sleeve or a laptop bag for my MacBook Pro is driving me crazy. See, I don’t want your typical bag or sleeve that anyone can pick up in the store. Gelaskins just announced that Frank Miller has joined their roster of artists.  With that said, several designs from ‘300‘ and ‘SIN CITY‘ are available for your iPod, MacBook Pro, iPhone, etc.  You can check them out here.  Personally, I would love to see art from Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns as available skins for my Apple products.  But the ‘Spartan‘ and ‘Moon‘ skin with King Leonidas isn’t looking too shabby either.

Coming soon from Incase is their hardshell case for the 13″ Macbook pro series. They had the hardshell cases for the 13″ unibody, but with the last update from Apple that left all new owners of the 13″ Macbook pro with very little to no options to protect their new purchase. By now this video has already been made several rounds on the internets.  But I can’t help watch over and over how quickly the thieves made out with all that Apple goodness.  In total, 23 MacBook Pro’s, 14 iPhones and 9 iPod Touch were lifted by a team of 5.  What I’m wondering is how the dudes will unload the stolen goods considering they don’t have power cables and boxes.

Ok so its seldom that I ever speak about Mac products.  Simply put, I’m still a PC guy thats hesitant to buy a MacBook or take advantage of my company’s hookup with the iPhone.  But its hard not to take notice of this uber limited Stealth MacBook Pro by Colorware.  Which in my mind reminds me a lot of my favoite paint job on highly tuned European cars.  Dave first introduced me to Colorware when he was on a mission to reskin his Blackberry and his MacBook Pro.  According to my cousin, Colorware is the authority of customizing MacBooks and Blackberrys.  With the super limited 10 unit only Stealth MacBook Pro, I don’t doubt it.  Only catch is this guy costs $8k.  If you have the money to splurge, Colorware may be of service.

Yesterday Apple announced that they were launching the MacBook Pro in a 13 inch model. The laptop will launch with an option of a 2.26GHz or a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with ram and hard drive size varying in size, but of course those items can be upgraded. Pricing starts at $1,399.00 CDN and is available for order at the store. I have to admit, as soon as I heard this was being made available, I got a bit of nerd wood. I’ve waited for 2 + years for Apple to release a 13 inch model in the MacBook Pro family line. Head on over to www.apple.com for more info.

I have to say I love Incase products, ahem free samples please? hahaha, anyways I bought an Incase bag in August while I was out in NYC for my Macbook Pro and have to say I love the light, sleek, convience of it. Well they also created iPhone slider cases in August in various different colours, now comes the release of the metallic colours, available in gold, silver, copper and gun metal. I don’t own an iPhone, but these cases look pretty great and looks to do the job that it’s suppose to, protectin’ ya phone. I’m actually considering getting one for my iTouch. Apple yesterday announced updated Macbooks and Macbook Pros. Both laptops are available for order from the web as well as Apple stores. Both laptops now have glass displays, which from some of the graphic designers that I’ve talked to seem to be disappointed. The Macbook underwent a huge change by changing it’s body from the durable polycarbonate to an aluminum body, something a lot of people have been waiting for, including myself. Unfortunately though the Macbook has dropped the firewire plug-ins for whatever reason, otherwise I would’ve honestly sold my current Macbook Pro and bought the smaller Macbook. The wait continues. Apple has announced a update on the MacBook and MacBook Pro lines today. The notebooks now feature a Multi-Touch trackpad which enables you to pinch, swipe, or rotate as you would on an iPhone. Tech specs that are getting a bump include hard drive storage, new Intel Core 2 Duo processors and an updated Nvidia graphics card.
