In collaboration with Parisian graffiti artist, Andre Saraiva, Belvedere IX released a short film titled “Mr. IX” last week for the new IX vodka. Belvedere IX (one “X”) is infused with nine ingredients: ginseng, guarana, acai, ginger, sweet almond, jasmine, eucalyptus, three cinnamon, and black cherry in micro-batches to blend Belvedere vodka with artesian water. The video below features the personality of Mr. IX, created by Saraiva to embody the spirit and the energy of the night.

Belvedere IX will be hosting VIP receptions during the Coachella festival between April 17-19th. The global launch event will take place during the Cannes International Film Festival in May.

LOS ANGELES, April 6 /PRNewswire/ — Belvedere IX and Music Loves Fashion have joined forces with the House of Hype and BPM magazine to present another unforgettable series of VIP events during the Coachella Music and Arts Festival 2009. These events will be for the benefit of the ONEXONE foundation, which works to preserve the lives of children in the U.S. and around the world with a focus on hunger, clean water, health care, and education (www.onexone.org).

After the success of the two past years, the red carpet will be rolled out at the Palm Springs’ Riviera Resort and Spa, from April 17th to the 19th 2009, and will be hosted by Jeff Duke and Adam Frankel. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the best in music, fashion and style with specialty gifting suites by 55DSL, Rocketdog, Vitamin Water, Kia, and Wrigley’s 5ive gum. The “Music Loves Fashion” event creates a desert playground for entertainment and recording industry professionals and their guests attending the Coachella Music Festival. Private VIP helicopter and bus shuttle service will be available between the festival and the Riviera.

On Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th from 10pm to 6am, Belvedere IX will present the Ballroom events that will be held in the Riviera’s 20,000 sq. ft. reception hall, where acclaimed DJs Kavinsky, Sebastian, DJ Mehdi, A-Trak, Pase Rock, LA Riots, Felix Cartal, Classixx, Them Jeans, Blake Miller, Peter Parker, Hyphy Crunk, DJ Excel & Gomez Warren IV, DJ Yo-C, and Doman+Pettigrew will take over the turntables. There will also be live performances by Dr. Hollywood, Elsiane and Scour. All visuals will be done by Madonna’s light engineer Christan Lamb and by Space and Dream. The entry fee to the Belvedere IX Ballroom event is a $50 donation that will directly go to ONEXONE. The daytime pool parties will be held around the Riviera’s clover shaped pool everyday from 12pm to 10pm showcasing over forty DJs, with fashion shows by MTHEMOVEMENT for Haus of “M”, an eco friendly street-savvy line for men and women, and Sonia Vera Swimwear. Saturday the 18th, 55DSL, in conjunction with Dim Mak, will host their fifteenth year anniversary pool party with Danny Masterson, The Whip, and many more special guests.

MSTRKRFT (read as “Master-Kraft”) is an electronic group out of Toronto. Actually this year at the Toronto Virgin Music Fest they replaced SebastiAn, when he missed his flight and they didn’t disappoint. The group came together in 2005 and consists of JFK (Jesse F. Keeler) and Al-P (Alex Puodziukas). The group has remixed over 30 songs of various genres including the latest remix of John Legend’s song “Green Light”.

On Friday I attended Fist Of God, which is the official name for the MSTRKRFT tour as well as their upcoming album, which is expected to drop in January of 2009. The stop I was at had Felix Cartal opening up, but there will be various openers throughout the tour such as DJ A-Trak, DJ Aoki, LA Riots, Congorock, DJ Assault and the aforementioned Felix Cartal. Blueprint Events, which is known as one of Vancouver’s best electronic promoters for a minute now, was hosting the event as well as the after party.

The event took place at Celebrities Night club and was fully packed, in fact this show could have easily taken place at Commodore Ballroom to accommodate more folks, but nonetheless the vibes were good as people were ready to dance their fuckin’ asses off. The duo came on at around 1am and they immediately had the crowd going crazy, as their sound is fairly distinct with that 4/4 beat and heavy heavy synths.

Like usual they played a range of stuff including their own remixes, from the Presets to Dem Franchise Boyz to Cupid to Daft Punk to Usher to Kylie Minogue and throwing in stuff from their first album as well. The set was filled with energy throughout and both MSTRKRFT and the crowd seemed to be feeding off of one another and it was non-stop. The set ended at about 2:30am, but an encore had JFK continue to rock the house til well past 3am. If you left this party not soaked from head to toe in sweat, then you my friend were not partying hard enough. Overall one word can describe this set. EPIC!
