Recently, Resident Advisor provided me with Friday afternoon excitement in the form of a new Pet Shop Boys single.  “I’m in Love with a German Film Star” produced by the Pet Shop Boys featuring Sam Taylor-Wood is actually a cover to the late 70’s British pop band, The Passions.  Collaborative work between Sam Taylor-Wood and The Pet Shop Boys isn’t news, as she’s provided vocals to their covers for Serge Gainsbourg and Donna Summers.  The single will be released on multiple platforms to include 12″, cd, iTunes and 7″ format on Kompakt’s label around October 27th.  Expect the single to  have remixes by Gui Boratto, Superpitcher (who did an amazing remix for Dntel), Jurgen Pappe, Mark Reeder as well as a symphonic version by the Pet Shop Boys.  I’m praying for an iTunes USA release.  Check out the myspace video.  I could be wrong, but it sounds like Neil Tennant still takes centerstage with vocals.
