Google has made life more simple for us - actually, a bit more simple for Apple iPhone and iPod touch users. Google Earth is a new application that provides access to satellite and aerial images of the world. To download the free application, visit the iTunes Store and search for “Google Earth.”
If you do not have an iPhone or iPhone touch, you can go to the original Google Earth site by clicking here.
I have to say I love Incase products, ahem free samples please? hahaha, anyways I bought an Incase bag in August while I was out in NYC for my Macbook Pro and have to say I love the light, sleek, convience of it. Well they also created iPhone slider cases in August in various different colours, now comes the release of the metallic colours, available in gold, silver, copper and gun metal. I don’t own an iPhone, but these cases look pretty great and looks to do the job that it’s suppose to, protectin’ ya phone. I’m actually considering getting one for my iTouch. Hit their blog up for more info: http://goincase.com/blog.
Music Skins recently released some designs submitted by Mishka. Of the 4 are the oh so loved Bear Mop, Starry Eyes, Keep Watch Eyeball and Skyway Trippers. There are a broad range of devices the skins can be applied to include most Apple products, Blackberry Curve and even the Motorola RAZR. Head over to back to see the other available designs as applied on an iPhone. Easily, I would pick up the Bear Mop skin for my iPod Touch. But I’m also a bit torn as I like the Skyway Trippers skin as well.
Following in Apple’s sense of compact and streamlined designs, Moti Barzilay came up with a concept for a portable projector. As you can see in the above picture, the iShow is extremely portable and fail proof. From the looks of things, operation is as simple as pulling both discs to reveal the projector, plugging in the appropriate cables and turning on the device. Not much else was revealed about this gadget. However, I’d be up to see a demo at JR.com or some local retailer in the near future.
T’was the night before iPhone and all through the streets, not a cell phone was ringing, they were now obsolete.
After my first post about iPhone, I was excited to find out how I could get my grubby paws on one. The initial service plans from Rogers/Fido were such an abomination, that I was reluctant to maintain my enthusiasm. Apparently after a wide spread outrage, the provider renegotiated their plan to include a special promotion.
For customers who activate by August 31 on a three year contract, a data-only offering of 6GB of data for $30 per month is being made available that can be added to any in-market voice plan. - www.macrumors.com
It’s nice to be heard. If you want to be one of the first Canadians to pounce on the new 3G iPhone this Friday, you can find out here.
Apple announced today at the WWDC, that the 3rd generation iPhone will be available in 22 out of the eventual 70 countries -including Canada and the US - on July 11th. I dorked out this morning, and watched the news feed from macrumorslive.com with great anticipation. Feel free to do your own BlackBerry VS iPhone analysis, but here are the top scores for my obvious preference.
The handsets will be available from Rogers and Fido in black 8G ($199) and black/or white 16G ($299). Twice as fast at half the price? Whoohoo! The GPS is built in - location information comes cell towers, Wi-Fi and GPS, and is displayed by Google Maps which shows local search, traffic info, and live tracking, navigation etc. The iPhone 2.0 software includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs the hundreds of third party applications already built with the recently released iPhone SDK.
I’m already addicted to my MacBook Pro and my iPod, so I am stoked to add the Apple iPhone to my growing techno fruit basket.
Via Boy Genius Report, is a live shot of the speculated Blackberry Thunder. This is the full feature touch screen, no slide out keyboard, version of the Blackberry and will be available for Verizon and Vodafone. This is also known to be the direct competitor for the Apple iPhone. I’m not big on touch screen technology, call me old school, but I like the feel of pressing keys and getting some sort of response. With that said, this thing is pretty sick. No street date yet, but keep it on lock here and we’ll find out for you.
