My latest obsession is a by invite-only shopping community for those of us that love streetwear.  Imagine having access to brands like ALIFE, Mishka, Dunderdon, WESC, etc at a deep discount .  The only catch is the offer is good for one day and/or until quantity has run out.  Which on the norm, I’ve missed out on some stellar deals.  The items may be a season old, but who wouldn’t anyone want to save over 50% off?  In case, you’re wondering, Jack Threads is that very shopping experience.

The process is really simple.  As a member of Jack Threads, you can have an email sent out on a daily basis highlighting the item that is up for grab.  From there you have an entire day to purchase the daily special.  But of course, if you hesitate, you’ll miss out on that pair of Cheap Monday jeans that went on sale for half off.  Another great perk is the referral system.  Share with others the Jack Threads experience and earn $10 credit towards future purchases.  Jack Threads even has a Twitter account buyers can follow.

I’ve actually been a member of the site since its inception.  But over the course of time and quite possibly through customer suggestion, more brands like Brixton and Gourmet have been introduced to the Jack Threads community.  From there, suddenly I’ve easily accumulated an influx of Fedex packages that have been arriving on a weekly basis.  And then theres the emotion involved when I’ve missed out on a great deal.  Does this qualify as a latest obsession?  I think so.  Thanks Jack Threads.  With that in mind, I invite all of you to check it out.

Insight’s latest campaign, Dopamine II, features a series of ads showcasing the brand’s influential style centered around the surf and skate subcultures. The Aussie brand has captivated us from the 1990s by blending contemporary fashion, surf, skate and art together to produce creative apparel and advertisements.  Stemming from Northern Australia in the 1990s, the ambiguity created by the brands vision keeps us highly involved and curious to see what they will release next season.

It seems we’re on the brink of full-fledged Spring, so it’s definitely time to find that one perfect bikini to rock all summer long (by one I realistically mean 3 or 4, obviously). I don’t think I’ve been so excited about something that I’m only sorta going to wear in public in a long time. Swimwear trends are normally pretty standard – less is more – with the changes year to year being pretty minimal. Spring/Summer ‘09 is letting everyone know we’re on a whole new tip here, and I freakin’ love it. Three words pretty much sum it all up: monokinis, one shoulder & neon, neon, neon! One thing I struggle with every year is that it’s hard to find a bikini that properly expresses my style; neon’s here to fix that in one fell swoop. I tried this look out on vacation a few weeks ago and had a friend promptly remark that I looked like I belonged in “a Kanye West video”. Kanye comparisons aside, this is a legit way to bring the street to the sand and I have never been happier. Next we get monokinis (surprisingly we may have to thank Paris Hilton for popularizing this look), which are a girl’s best friend. Those of us who are shuddering to think of a bikini in March should fear not; monokinis are flattering on almost all body types, provided you find the right one. Finally, for those who firmly want to be fly on the beach instead of just half-naked, we’ve got the one-shoulder look. I love this because it adds a bit of glamour and is pretty unexpected.

With pretty much every designer touching on at least one of these trends, we’ve got a lot of options ladies! One of the best brands to look to would definitely have to be Insight, for properly representing the neon look and offering some one piece options that are actually flattering.

Agent Provocateur brings the sex appeal with monokinis that range from good coverage to next to nothing; not to mention the pin-up-esque bows & polka dots on the bikinis that are my hands down favorites.

Aussie skate and surf brand, Insight, has recently released a new lookbook from their Holiday collection.

The new collection is more focused on cut and sew details featuring darker colors, denim, jackets, vests, leggings and more.  This is a different approach to what we have seen from Insight’s past collections of gorgeous patterns, bright flannel pieces and outrageous use of colors.  I love their previous collections, as well as the new holiday collection (seen below).

Insight offers men and women a modern look for casual comfort, as it compliments the skater and hipster well.  I love this collection!

When I was a lot younger I used to have a slightly unhealthy obsession with the Addams Family. I was Morticia Addams one Halloween. Then, little Wednesday the next. I even asked my dad if I could sleep in a coffin at one point. Creepy, I know.

Anyways, this cute little dress by Aussie label Insight has brought up all these old childhood feelings in me. The whole grey and black-striped baby doll cut totally screams “zombie schoolgirl,” but in a cool way. The sleeves and collar are slightly undone, and the five button closure down the front is adorned with little gold nautical anchors.

Take this dress to the next level by pairing it with a pair of black opaque tights and patent leather mary janes or jazz flats. Top that off with your broken-in black leather jacket and you’re good to go. Just forget about the braids and the ghost face to match.

I love Fall weather. To keep warm, I like to mix and match pieces for a casual and comfortable look that features leather, pleather, bright colors, fringe and men’s inspired styles.

Mix and layer tops with cardigans and jackets during the day. For nights out on the town, flatter your waist by tucking in a fitted cami underneath a high waisted skirt. Wear skirts, dresses and loose tops with leggings or tights to complete the look – and keep your legs warm at night.
