Here’s the official and just released video for Cut Copy’s “Hearts on Fire” from the In Ghost Colours album. The one some of ya’ll may have seen with the girl riding around on the bike and masked people was made for a Nokia contest I believe.
Note that I also tagged this video for the humor section - I got more than a few laughs from it.
The direction of the video was a real surprise considering the track is a real upbeat joint. Dan Whitford should consider doing some Aussie soap opera’s..he could be like the reverse-progress male version of Natalie Imbruglia.
Cut Copy played to a sold out crowd Tuesday April 29th at Richards on Richards here in Vancouver and it was one of the best (if not THE best) events I’ve attended in a minute, as expected. As you can probably tell by how late this is being posted after the show - it was one hell of a par-tay.
Opening act Black Kids were a nice addition to the evening and Cut Copy’s DJ set at the after party was also great. Even though Caprice isn’t a favorite venue of mine by any means, the Fleetwood Mac/Lifelike mix (so seamless it sounds like an official remix) from the So Cosmic mixtapewas definitely worth staying out for.
Go *here* for a video clip of “Hearts on Fire” from the show which I managed to snag from a friends camera (who apparently loves to sing along and howl). Yes, its very low-fi but it gives you an idea of the tremendously fun vibe of the night without spoiling the experience if you haven’t caught them live in your city just yet.
Also, be sure to check back here Monday May 5th for an EXCLUSIVE Killahbeez.com interview with Cut Copy!
