Google has made life more simple for us - actually, a bit more simple for Apple iPhone and iPod touch users. Google Earth is a new application that provides access to satellite and aerial images of the world. To download the free application, visit the iTunes Store and search for “Google Earth.”
If you do not have an iPhone or iPhone touch, you can go to the original Google Earth site by clicking here.
Ahhhh shit. “SAY M-S-N”, this is one of the funniest things I’ve seen. AJK sent this to me while I was at work and I bursted out laughing as I watched all three freestyles.
Some of my favorite lines:
From Google to MSN “I’m 6 gigs deep up in their inboxes”
From MSN to Google “Your name sounds like a baby retard doodle”
From MSN to Yahoo! “You should ask your mama, cus Bill Gates might’ve been your real founding father”
From MSN to Yahoo! “Yahoo HOT JOBS? Sounds like a porno”
From Yahoo! to MSN “40 Billion couldn’t buy you a date with me” (clearly about the buy out attempt earlier this year)
From Google to Yahoo! “You want to test my manhood, you see my stock rise. Let’s both lift our hoods and compare index size”
I have to say these dudes did a great job in researching and setting this up. I really felt like the dude in the MSN costume really sold it and came out hard. Good mic and crowd control…wait am I judging this as if it’s real? Just sit back and watch all three videos. I think these freestyles could knock Eli of his throne, maaaaaang.
Officially revealed to the public yesterday is Google’s long awaited Android powered handset. T-Mobile will be the first to get to release this open source smartphone called G1. The G1 features both a touch screen and slide out keyboard, 3G/Wi-Fi and Quad Band GSM, 1GB memory card storage, a 3 mega-pixel camera and off course access to tons of Google apps. The phone will also be the first smartphone to support Google Maps 3D streetview, which that in itself is pretty cool. What’s that you say? Apple has iTunes, what’s Google got? Yeah, no need to worry, Amazon has their back and the music on Amazon is DRM-free. You can expect to pay $179 US dollars with two-year voice and data contract. Check ya’self Apple.
Apple announced today at the WWDC, that the 3rd generation iPhone will be available in 22 out of the eventual 70 countries -including Canada and the US - on July 11th. I dorked out this morning, and watched the news feed from macrumorslive.com with great anticipation. Feel free to do your own BlackBerry VS iPhone analysis, but here are the top scores for my obvious preference.
The handsets will be available from Rogers and Fido in black 8G ($199) and black/or white 16G ($299). Twice as fast at half the price? Whoohoo! The GPS is built in - location information comes cell towers, Wi-Fi and GPS, and is displayed by Google Maps which shows local search, traffic info, and live tracking, navigation etc. The iPhone 2.0 software includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs the hundreds of third party applications already built with the recently released iPhone SDK.
I’m already addicted to my MacBook Pro and my iPod, so I am stoked to add the Apple iPhone to my growing techno fruit basket.
“Mr Brin and Mr Page are prime examples of who we often refer to as ‘builders of tomorrow’ – people who embrace the power of creative exploration and curiosity that leads to lifelong innovation and creativity. The Lego brick – the heart and soul of the Lego Group – is a catalyst for that development, and we’re proud that it has also inspired the innovation that is the heart and soul of Google.”
For every holiday, Google puts up a Doodle to honor that special occassion. Today, I was curious about the significance of the Lego Doodle that was put up. January 2008 marks Lego’s 50th anniversary. The building block company’s ethos inspired Google and what the search engine believes in. Read the rest of the article here.
