This year one of the greatest basketball players to have played in our time will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. That player, is of course, Michael Jordan. To commemorate this special occasion, Gatorade has unveiled three new “Championship” flavours as well as 6 different collector bottles.

It looks like G’s, better known as Gatorade, marketing campaign is starting to pick up and we’re seeing more and more ads. The only campaign we’ve seen to date is the “What’s G?” where it features various athletes from different sports with a voice over done by Lil Wayne. The latest campaign takes on a more humorous approach and is inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The campaign, called “Quest for G”, is filmed throughout parts of Europe and the United States and features athletes such as Kevin Garnett, Allicia Sacramone, Derek Jeter and Usain Bolt as the “Knights of G” who confront humorous challenges on their ultimate quest to be “G”.

I love waking up to early morning surprises. I busted out the camera and documented what had arrived, as I usually do. Earlier this month we posted the “Whats G?” commercial that features a host of athletes and voice over by Lil Wayne. Well, Gatorade showed some love and sent us a G package. Inside the box contained multiple bottles / offerings of G, a BEAUTIFUL photo booklet with the definition of a G, a letter, a custom G usb stick with media kit and in addition to that they sent limited edition G Super Bowl bottles which features the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

This commercial premiered during the Rose Bowl game and features a mix of popular sports figures from the likes of Dwayne Wade, Kerri Walsh & Misty May-Treanor, Serena Williams, Jabbawockeez, Bill Russell and Muhammad Ali to name a few. The voice over, as you may be able to tell, is provided by Lil Wayne. Gatorade is owned by the Pepsi Co company and they are currently going through a major re-branding on all products and freshening up logos and bottle looks, which is why there were all those recent Pepsi Pop-ups. Personally I think the new logo and branding looks super clean and crisp and quite a fan of it.
