Back in January, we caught a glimpse of the bi-coastal collaboration between Mishka and Rebel8.  Here is an in depth look at the fitted cap which features a black denim crown and leather brim.  Theres a good balance of patches of both brands including one of Mishka’s mascots, Simon and the ‘8′ logo from Rebel8.  And to answer my question about a small capsule collection the first time around, a collabo tee shirt is also available in either black or white.  Both the fitted and t-shirt are available now at Rebel8.

This came as a total surprise to me.  Lightly following Huck Gee, I’ve always known he’s been into rally racing.  The above 59Fifty is a collaboration between him, New Era, DC Shoes co-founder and rally driver, Ken Block.  The above fitted features a slightly modified version of Huck’s well known skullhead with Ken Block’s race number, New Era’s flag one side and DC’s logo on the other.  Along with the fitted is a collection of sneakers to be unfolded to the public later on.  We’re not sure when this collection drops, but you can bet there will be a demand for it.

Coming from LEADERS1354 is a new 59Fifty adorned with the same colorways as the Nike Foamposite copper.  With everything kept to a minimal, this fitted receives copper embroidery on the main ‘LDRS’ logo and New Era flag on the side.  Matching colorways of a fitted to sneakers or vice versa in DJ Clark Kent’s case in the past, has always been a good look.  Being that DC sneakerheads have much love for the Foamposites, this fitted should be well received.  The copper LEADERS1354 New Era drops this Saturday in store at 11am.

Here is the latest fitted by Play Cloths featuring their mascot, Jack.  This no frills fitted is called ‘Thinking Cap‘ and features Jack’s head embroidered in white and navy.  Red outlining gives Jack’s head a layer of depth over the navy base.  The only other embroidery is the brand’s name in white on the side of the cap.  Expect to see this fitted soon on their webstore front real soon.  And if you’re in DC, head down to Commonwealth.

For this edition of Fitted Fridays, we came across a line of fitted caps called Loweres from Japanese New Era fitted retailer, ONSPOTZ.  The above 59Fifty features a navy plaid base with embroidery work in the form of Loweres’s crest, New Era’s logo in its usual spot and a black script placed on the underbill.  Plaid fitted arent exactly a needle in a haystack, but the colorway combination along with positioning of the embroidery brings forth a lot of character.  The ‘Learn from Yesterday‘ New Era fitted can be copped here.

Everytime I see a fitted released by Vault in Harlem, I’m a) reminded to finally visit and b) return to Goliath for tshirt and fitted hunting.  The above teaser image to an upcoming fitted features the silver and gold lining  similar to that of dollar bills as a security measure against counterfeiting.  The cap comes in black, gray, red, purple and blue colorways.  But what we really wanna know is what the rest of the fitted looks like.  One thing for sure, Vault and Goliath never disappointed with their New Era cap releases.  For now, we’ll just have to sit tight.

For this week’s Fitted Fridays, we present to you a cap with an all over striped pattern from FOURSQUARE.  First of all, black and any neon color is a good start.  Add in the texture similar to that of a classic striped tee and you’ve got yourself  a good looking fitted.  The stripes really set this cap apart from any other black and neon color embroidery cotton/wool blend fitted.  And it doesn’t hurt that it shares the same hues as the original Air Max 95’s.  FOURSQUARE’s ‘Future Stripes’ 59fifty cap is available now at their online shop.

Without causing any confusion, I’d like to point out that I’m strictly focusing on the Mishka x Rebel 8 59Fifty.  While the one on the right with the giant golden coin embroidery may break necks, I don’t know a whole lot about it.  Although, a collaboration between Mike Giant’s brand, Rebel 8 and Mishka NYC isn’t out of question, it definitely did come as a surprise.  But then again, Mishka has worked with tatoo artist extraordinaire, JK5 in the past.  The fitted features both denim and black leather with a handful of red amd black typeface patchwork.  The Mishka x Rebel 8 fitted is due for release this Spring or Summer.  But the real question is, will a small capsule collection follow suit?  We’ll just have to wait and see.

For this week’s Fitted Fridays, I came across another NYC themed fitted cap.  Except this time, its a collaborative 59Fifty with MTV.  Unlike its usual outspoken logo, the only evidence of the collaboration is a tiny plain text hit on the back.  The only thing that really stands out with this tonal fitted is the ‘New York’ script embroidery on the right panels.  No frills, but definitely a staple classic in any collection.  Amazingstore has a small range of sizes available still for those interested.

Considering New Era is the official ball cap for MLB, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never featured a baseball team related fitted.  New Era’s latest 59Fifty features shiny ballistic nylon in metallic blue, white and jet black.  To contrast the nylon crown, the underbill is dressed in black pleather.  With enough subtle styling cues, I can see this fitted being picked up from Yankees and non-Yankees fans alike.  If you’re like me and need this fitted ths very moment, head over to Dr. Jays.

Acapulco Gold recently released two new 59Fifty’s which feature the photography of Janette Beckman.  I love the simplicity of the black wool cap with a red ‘OG’ embroidery.  But the real highlight is the silkscreened photos of music icons, Joe Strummer and Run DMC on the underbill.  Both can be copped at Amazingstore, but in the meantime more images can be seen below.

We’ve recently seen Strictly Fitted’s collaboration with ELM Company.  Now here’s a really clean fitted by the ELM Company and DUNKXCHANGE.  As stated in the past, I’m a huge fan of large clean embroidery.  For this particular cap, we see oversized raised ‘DXC‘ embroidery.  The teal borders, eyelets and underbill all complement the black base.  However, this fitted will only be available to those attending the San Francisco  DUNKXCHANGE, which occurs this Saturday, the 5th.  So if you’re attending, don’t sleep on this one.  The run is super limited.

For a more subtle look this winter, Stussy introduces two power suit like fitteds.  Their ‘Suit Stock‘ 59Fifty comes in either grey or black and features both the traditional graf and ‘SS‘ logo embroidery.  Both are now available now at Stussy online and select retailers.  Either colorway is good in my book.  But if I had to make  a split decision purchase, the cross-hatch gets my money all the way.

Strictly Fitteds to me, is the authority of fitted cap news.  So to see a milestone where the online brand is releasing their very own fitted cap is very blog-worthy.  The online mag has teamed up with the well respected, ELM Company for this project which consists of two fitted caps.  The pack consists of a black classic wool blend and a canvas upper with suede brim fitted.  Although colorway may be at a minimal, I love the “SF” logo embroidery and ribbon hit on the back.  The Strictly Fitteds and ELM Company fitteds should be available late November.

Patterns like plaid, tweed herringbone and houndstooth give so much personality to clothing.  So upon seeing Bodega’s glen check tweed 59Fifty, its a no brainer that I need this fitted immediately.  The pattern is complemented with a two tone ‘B’ logo in blue and white.  Finally,  more embroidery can be seen on the back in the form of Bodega’s logo in blue.  For those interested, Bodega’s Glen Check Tweed fitted is available both online and in store now.

Here’s a fitted that combines two of my favorite things, plaid and Kidrobot’s Dunny silhouette.  Partially playful, this 59fifty features an all over Kidrobot print on the underbill and a large embroidery of a Dunny.  The inside of the embroidery is filled in with a plaid texture with colors seen throughout the entire cap.  The cap is available now at all Kidrobot locations and online.

Much like anyone’s first visit to Flight Club, this Christmas colorway fitted will have you doing a thorough investigation.  I can’t stress enough how much I love thick embroidery on fitted caps.  The above Mitchell & Ness fitted features embroidery of the Brooklyn Bridge along the sides, a Mitchell & Ness logo on the back among a few other additions.  Further evidence of the collabo effort can be seen under the bill  with “Flight Club” embroidery.  The Flight Club x Mitchell & Ness fitted cap is available now online and at the individual shops.

Tonal fitteds have always been a good look.  Take for example the “Black Pack” from Mishka.  Coming from Fitted Hawaii, is a tonal black fitted with raised embroidery of Hawaii’s flag.  To further raise the bar, the cap itself is constructed of straw weave, which is more common in fedoras.  The inside is satin lined with Hawaii’s seal and a raised crest can be seen on the backside of the fitted.  Along with the release of this fitted is also a tshirt featuring the slogan, “Hawaii is the new black.”  Look out for this tshirt and fitted pack to drop on Saturday October 24th in store and online.

Recently made available is REBEL8’s ‘Oilskin‘ New Era fitted.  It may be safe to say that REBEL8 is the first to collaborate with New Era on a waterproof oilskin fitted.  Available in grey or hunter green, this fitted includes REBEL8’s tonal insignia on the front and a gold logo and crest on the back.  I think the flannel lining adds another layer of sophistication.  This fitted can be now be copped on REBEL8’s online shop.

The latest sneaker and streetwear boutique to receive their own New Era fitted is High Point based out in Scottsdale, Arizona.  But what’s more unique about this release is High Point’s collaboration with an upcoming brand, Dearly Departed.  What I love about the merger on this fitted is how effortlessly the “D” logo fits in with High Point’s logo.  In terms of colorway, you can’t go wrong with white, silver and gold on a black fitted.  The High Point x Dearly Departed 59Fifty is now available at High Point in a limited run.  And I’m certain they’ll accept phone orders.
