Our friends, Vettig & Morsig, from Amsterdam have sent in another contagious mixtape. If you all recall, I’ve featured DJ Tron back in March. Seven mixtapes later and we have another stellar mix with tracks by SebastiAn, Daft Punk, Boys Noize, etc. The real icing on the cake is Erol Alkan’s remix of Sweet Dreams. On a side note, I’m wondering if there is a numeric and name theme going on. DJ Tron’s debut was #7 and the latest is #14. And keeping up with the “Dirty and Greasy” beats theme, this one is conveniently named Lard and Loops. Maybe I should ask Milan before jumping to any conclusions.
As always the track listing is provided on the back for avid mp3 single collectors and the zSHARE is here.
The feel good jam of 2007 award may belong to Peter, Bjorn and John’s “Young Folks”. But this years crack hands down is “Young Love” by the Mystery Jets. I’m now convinced anything Erol Alkan is involved with becomes a hit. The above youtube clip is actually a remix by the Shoes. Expect this to be played by djs of all genres.

So this is not a recent mixtape, but if you didn’t know it exists, its practically new right? Much like Ladyhawke, Cut Copy is another group signed onto Modular Recordings. Listen to the mixtape below. Its what Erol Alkan would consider, “Sonically phenomenal”. This is a mix you wanna throw in the car and drive a very long distance with. The beautiful textures will keep you in the car even if your commute is under an hour. As always, if you like it, dl it here and a tracklisting is on the back.
