Last Tuesday marked the first “Random Long Weekend” party series put on by Danse Contact, The Hastings Set and yours truly Killahbeez. The series will take place every long weekend, which basically ensures that there’s at least one party per month. At this particular jam we had DJ’s Pump, Tyler Fedchuk and U-Tern smashing it on the 1’s and 2’s. They kept the party vibes going all night long. Special thanks to everyone who came through and supported. Oh and before I forget, special guest NBA player Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns came through to party it up. Check the full gallery below.

Today we have a remake from Kid Sister. Taking on a classic jam from Jungle Brothers and making it her own with the help of Treasure Fingers on the production tip. Next is a remix that I’ve been waiting for since we did our interview with The Golden Filter. They’ve taken on remixing Empire of The Sun’s “We Are The People” and I can say this is one of my favourite remixes of this song. Such a different approach compared to all the other remixes out there. The sad news is that on their Twitter, they’ve tweeted that this is the last remix they’ll be doing for a minute as they finish up their album. I’ve heard a preview of the album and can say it doesn’t disappoint. The third jam we have for you today are from a couple of Vancouver DJs, Hedspin (Eh Team) and Marvel, as they remix a remix of Lykke Li.

Brooklyn DJ, DJ Jayceeoh, is back with volume 2 of his Super 7 mixtape series. Like the previous, this one is banging and features DJ’s Fashen (PHX), Spider (LA), Bladerunners (BOS), Illo (Ottawa), Excel (PHI), and Vin Sol (SF). If this is the first time your ears have been blessed with this series, the way it works is there’s 7 DJs, each dropping a 10 minute set of their original remixes, edits, blends, etc and fuses the world of hip-hop with electro and an array of other goodness. Grandtheft, one half of the DJ duo known as Team Canada, as well as part of the Eh! Team DJ collective, has just launched a new record label called Tremendous Records. To celebrate the launch of the record label, they’ve announced the first signing, Denmark’s electro-dance duo The Wong Boys. The two have been getting some hype over in Europe and look to be doing the same in North America. Look out for them as they will be hitting Toronto’s CMW, SXSW as well as hitting a city near you. On Saturday we dropped DJ Pumps 2006 mixtape called Steady Rockin’, that mixtape contained some dope breaks, funk and disco records. Well, DJ Pump is back with another mixtape, Sevonte Swang, and its been getting tons of pickup and press from other blogs and write-ups and rightfully so. This week’s Mixtape Monday features a mix from one of my favorite Djs, Dj Pump. The dude is mad versatile and can seamlessly mix any genres of music and make it hot. This mix here is part of the Truth Mix Show, which the Eh! Team Djs have a weekly show, every Friday or Saturday I think. Anyways back to this mix, the remixes on this are sick. The Scream remix had me doing some serious head bobbin’, while the MGMT remix is damn smooth and blends so well. Gotta love how they have the Montreal’s Team Canada eating poutine & bagels, Vancouver’s Hedspin eating sushi, Toronto’s Jr. Flo eating Carribbean roti and Calgary’s Pump hanging out with a beef carcass..hahaha. As for Ottawa’s Illo – I’m not sure what he’s eating but I’d assume it’s from Tim Horton’s.
