Aside the casual visits to Audrey Kawasaki, Edwin Ushiro or Melissa Haslam’s sites, there hasn’t been a print I’ve needed/wanted in my life lately. Aside from the peace over war theme, I am totally speechless towards the sepia colorway. Travis P’s Peace 47 print is a must own. You can cop this at Yo! Depot. $40 for 22 x 30 screenprint is a no-brainer. Meanwhile, make the leap to see a detailed shot of the print.

The art of Edwin Ushiro is undoubtfully haunting and I love it. One particular piece that has been sold out for some time now, “Old Pali Girl”, tells the tale of a young girl strangled by a family friend. Her apparition appears at Old Pali Road skipping with her jump rope. Should anyone stop in the middle of that road, she will inch towards the car and stare through the driver’s window. I used to hear these kind of stories all the time from my parents. Tales of dead children, tanuki and kitsune appearing as innocent humans in distress. And as chilling as they are, I’ve always shown fascination and curiosity.
Make the leap to see a couple more images of Mr. Ushiro’s work. Man I wish I knew about this artist earlier on.
