If you've been longing to cop your favorite Gossip Girl's style, check out Anna Sui for Target starting September 13.

Two worlds collide. For those who have been longing to bring the stylish ensembles from Gossip Girl to the real world and for those who have been waiting for another designer to release a chic but cheap collection at a national retailer, look no further. Anna Sui for Target, which is inspired by the television hit Gossip Girl, will be launching at 250 Target stores starting September 13.

The Anna Sui for Target collection is the second designer installment following Alexander McQueen for Target’s Designer Collections. The collection is made up of 19 pieces inspired by leading ladies Blair, Serena, Jenny, and Vanessa from Gossip Girl. Prices range from $19.99-$149.99 and include dresses, sweaters, blouses, cropped trousers, and mini skirts. While the collection definitely brings out the different styles of each of the characters, the Anna Sui for Target collection definitely stays true to the designer’s signature ethnic/boho prints and feminine silhouettes.

Some of the standout pieces are captured above. Channel your inner Park Avenue princess (aka Blair) with a prim and proper long-sleeve, ivory, tablecloth lace dress. Mimic Serena’s sexy uptown look with the black lace halter dress. Play up your rebellious side with a Jenny-inspired blouse, plaid skirt, and punky tights. And for all the Vanessa’s out there, chill downtown in a vintage-inspired vest layered over an ethnic-print dress.

Are you excited for the Anna Sui for Target collection? Which Gossip Girl’s style are you plannin’ to cop?

Inspired, floral prints are a quick way to make a big impact. Appropriate, since Nom de Plume Yaya is all about spontaneity, youthfulness, and irresponsibility.

Nom de Plume Yaya is an exclusive collection for Urban Outfitters by designer Yael Aflalo. While she is now based out of New York, Aflalo’s design roots began in L.A., where she created a skirt that was quickly snatched up by Fred Segal. Today, Aflalo is not only the designer of two lines, Yaya and Love Yaya, she is also the co-owner of The Reformation, a store with locations in New York and L.A. that reworks vintage pieces. Nom de Plume Yaya encompasses Aflalo’s bicoastal personality: seasonless, carefree clothes to represent the west, and partygirl, silhouettes with attitude to represent the east.

This Floral Scoop Dress is one of my favorite pieces from the collection. A feminine frock silhouette is accentuated by a wide, scoop neckline, which falls into an elegant deep-V in the back. The 3/4-length sleeves and cinched waist makes the dress flattering for just about any body shape, while the above-the-knee hemline and side pockets keep the dress casual enough to don on any occasion. Made of a polyester and spandex blend for optimum comfort, the dress features a large-scale purple and yellow flower motif – great colors to pop out of fall’s essential black leather jacket, black tights and black leather ankle boots (a great daytime look, might I add). To take this dress into evening, use the large neckline and shorter sleeves to your advantage – pile on some serious accessories! Swap the ankle boots for a pair of patent leather pumps and you’re good to go!

At just $68, the Nom de Plume Yaya Floral Scoop Dress is a great addition to your fall/winter wardrobe that will have the longevity to take you into spring next year.

Buy it HERE.

Flowers were blooming all over S/S 09 catwalks. From muted, grunge-worthy florals on stylish hipster chicks to bright and exotic maxi and tulip dresses, flower power is at its fullest this season. That’s why the Casino Dress by Sunner is essential for any fashionista’s summer wardrobe.

Sunner is a relative newbie on the fashion scene. Founded by Aussie export Susan Denner Lee and partner Simon Lee, the highly-wearable collection mixes in elements of vintage, feminine, and surf nuances. The Casino Dress is a fine balance between vintage whimsy and modern design aesthetic. The A-line cut mini features a wide neckline and puffed elbow-length sleeves. The swirling blue, purple, and gold florals make for a decidedly retro feel, while the industrial-style zipper up the back brings a surprisingly modern twist.

The great thing about a dress like this is that it looks great on just about every figure, and the dress itself will outlast seasonal trends. While you might opt to pair the dress with a pair of gladiator sandals or studded, rock-inspired wedges at the moment, you’ll be able to take the dress into fall/winter with a pair of black or grey tights thrown underneath and boots. For an of-the-moment stying tip: Pair the dress with a black boyfriend blazer with the sleeves rolled up or a bold, tribal statement necklace!

On sale from $312 to $218 at both ShopBop and Revolve, there is no excuse not to cop this floral masterpiece!

Buy it HERE.

As you can see, I’m on a dress binge.

Susana Monaco designs a lot of simple dresses. A simple dress means ACCESSORIES. Just imagine the possibilities! I instantly thought of long necklaces, bangles, big hoop earrings, and chunky rings. You can pair the dresses with fitted cardigans detailed with cute buttons, ballet flats, tights…so many options.

Monaco also translates her less is more style onto tops, skirts, jackets, sweaters, etc. Instead of bedazzling pieces, she focuses on fit. A little black dress sans pizazz can look way better than a detailed creation if it fits well, hugging just the right places. I’m also a big fan of the colour palette she works with. Neutral colours make it easier for you to add a pop of colour, whether it be with your shoes, purse, or chunky coloured bangles. Outside of the neutral colours she works with, she also works with a few deep jem colours that can make even a cotton dress look rich and luxurious.

I typically run and hide from anything that resembles the hawaiian floral theme or with big flowers on it in general. Monaco has a dress with a muted floral pattern that I would wear. It’s really cute. See below!

Minimarket is one of the coolest labels to emerge from Sweden in the past few years. Created by sisters Sofie, Pernilla and Jennifer Elvestedt, Minimarket’s designs are based on creating balance from opposites. Their garments are clean and comfortable, while hinting at extravagance through details.

The Toronto Stripe Dress is one of my favorite dresses for spring/summer 09. The tidy blue, red and white stripes and 100 percent cotton material make the dress a perfect accompaniment to any sunny afternoon, while the darts in both the front and back and pleated detail at the waist to create a bubble effect are examples of the fine craftsmanship behind every Minimarket piece. The bubble skirt design gives this dress a very lady-like shape, while the minimalist and carefree top-half balance out the overall aesthetic of the dress.

This dress would work very well right now with a pair of ankle boots and cardigan or leather jacket. Even throw on a pair of black tights underneath if it’s a particularly breezy day. In the summer, trade up the ankle boots for a pair of brown gladiator sandals and forgo the cardigan to show off an armful of heavy wooden bangles.

Retailed at around $180 USD, Minimarket is available at Opening Ceremony in the U.S., Pixie Market online, and One of a Few in Vancouver, Canada.

Just becuase 2008 is over, doesn’t mean the sales are. Hot deals are still rollin’ in, especially online. Check this Liv triangle suspender dress by StyleIN over at one of my fave shops Pixie Market. The dress was originally retailed at $189… not that it wasn’t worth the price then. But when the dress has been newly-reduced to just $113, you can’t help but click on the “buy” button.

This super comfy (think fave pair of warn-in leggings comfy) cotton dress (97% cotton, 3% elastane) hits high at the waist, and the suspenders form a V in the back. The hem measures 31″ from the shoulder, but the exaggerated seam at the waist keep this dress from looking too short. I’m digging this bright electric blue shade, and the triangles definitely lend some graphic interest to both the front and back.

To wear this dress now, slip the dress on over a pair of black leggings or opaque tights and a body-hugging T-shirt or long-sleeved top. Finish the look off with a pair of boots and your winter coat and you’re good to go! When spring and summer arrive, follow the lead of this model and tuck a solid-colored tank on underneath.

Buy it HERE.

New Year’s Eve calls for something a little out of the ordinary… but that doesn’t mean you should hand over all your Christmas cash on a dress for one night. Why shell out $200 when you can throw on this Silence & Noise Bowtie Dress available at Urban Outfitters for $78 and look like a million bucks?

This swingy party dress is made of light and airy chiffon, tucked under at the hem for a cute bubble look. The strapless bust is topped off with an oversized taffeta bow, and the smocking in the back ensures that it’ll fit right without flattening out the chest.

I’m all for picking party looks that keep it fun and costumey. The short, babydoll silhouette and oversized bow in the front is flirty and cute. And the turquoise green color will really pop in a sea of black dresses. Throw on a pair of black nylons, patent pumps and a leather motorcycle jacket, and all you’ll need to find is someone to kiss at midnight.

Buy it HERE.

When I was a lot younger I used to have a slightly unhealthy obsession with the Addams Family. I was Morticia Addams one Halloween. Then, little Wednesday the next. I even asked my dad if I could sleep in a coffin at one point. Creepy, I know.

Anyways, this cute little dress by Aussie label Insight has brought up all these old childhood feelings in me. The whole grey and black-striped baby doll cut totally screams “zombie schoolgirl,” but in a cool way. The sleeves and collar are slightly undone, and the five button closure down the front is adorned with little gold nautical anchors.

Take this dress to the next level by pairing it with a pair of black opaque tights and patent leather mary janes or jazz flats. Top that off with your broken-in black leather jacket and you’re good to go. Just forget about the braids and the ghost face to match.

The Insight Living Dead Dress is currently on sale at Cultist for $39.00. Cop yours HERE.

One of the season’s hottest trends has to be menswear. Wide-leg trousers, penny loafers, suspenders and bowlers hats have never looked hotter. But here at KB, we’re all about taking things up to the next level, and that’s what’s goin’ on with this menswear-inspired double-breasted vest dress by Motel.

The Dianna Dress by Motel fits like your favorite black tank from the shoulders to just under the bust, and the rest of the dress borrows from a men’s grey pinstripe suit. A cinched look at the waist and darts starting at the hips give the dress a more feminine feel, while the 10-buttoned double-breasted front gives the dress structure and intrigue.

This dress would look ultra cool with a pair of bright opaque tights (like magenta or electric blue) and a pair of shiny black jazz flats. And at a stunningly low price of $72 at one of my favorite clothing kartels, Pixie Market, what’s not to like?

Cop your own Motel Dianna dress HERE.

So pretty. These were without a doubt the first words that came to mind when I spotted this romantic jewel-toned ruffle dress by Susana Monaco.

With winter coming at us at full force, it’s definitely time to put away those pretty summer dresses, but a dress like this one easily transfers from one season to the next. The light silk material and lack of sleeves keep you cool in the summer, while the cooler teal color keeps this dress appropriate for the fall and winter seasons. Simply throw on a pair of opaque black tights underneath and a pair of sky-high pumps or sleek riding boots to really allow the dress to be the focus of your outfit when it’s cold.

The dress features a five-button closure down the bust, as well as on-seam pockets at the hips. Perhaps the most eye-catching aspect of this dress is the intricate ruffle detail all along the collar. So romantic!

Regularly priced at $286.00 at ShopBop, the Susana Monaco ruffle dress (which also comes in black) is on sale for just $143.00. That’s right. Beautiful silk dress for under $!50. Get ‘em while they’re hot, ladies. You know I got mine.

Buy it HERE.

This summer, even more so than summers of recent memory, is all about the dress. Dresses for every occasion, every time of day and everywhere. And there is plenty to pick from. I’m really noticing ankle length dresses are back in big way this season, which is sweet if you’re a tall person, unlike some of us. Bohemian prints are really hot, especially in the longer length dresses. (That would be the Tara Matthews example, above). Feminine details like ruffles, bows and the cascade of extra fabric are also popular. And, when in doubt, pick something in a vibrant, eye popping hue like the off the shoulder cut from Robert Rodriguez after the jump. The T-shirt style mini is still a good choice, along with the draping, looser styles we all love with tights the rest of the year. Another interesting fabric is the dip and dye print, where the dress starts out one colour and ends up another. If it’s all too much, fall back to the classic colour combo of black and white in wild print. I’ve done the hard work by compiling what I see as the prime examples of major summer trends. All you need to do is find a reasonable facsimile. Pics after the jump.
