Awww shit. There’s a new Keys N Krates video, this comes by way of the Livestock Block Party, which if you happened to miss you should be ashamed of yourself and yes I’m looking a few of you specifically! Anyways the party was hype with DJ Pump and DJ Hedspin doing their thing and then Keys n Krates killing it live for everyone on the block and the next few blocks over for that matter. The clip features some Lionel Ritchie, Janet, Depeche Mode, Michael Jackson, James Brown. On the turntables is DJ Jr-Flo, keyboards is Matisse and on the drums is Adam Tune. Check out the video and then cruise on over to the photos found here. In one of the pictures you can see the drummer Adam Tune playing the drums with no shoes.
This week’s Mixtape Monday features another cat that’s part of the Eh! Team Djs and his name is Dj Jr-Flo from Toronto. His name is already synonymous with the entertainment scene in his native Canada, regularly playing at the country’s hottest nightspots. Before tearing up the hottest clubs from coast to coast, he was tearing up DJ competitions around the world. In 2001, Jr-Flo was crowned the DMC Canadian Champion and the ITF World Champion, the two most prestigious DJ competitions ever. In addition to all of this Jr-Flo and cohort Matisse, have also started a seperate “Live Remix Collective” called Keys N Krates, whom we’ve posted about here on Killahbeez numerous times.
To transition us from the Summer to the Fall Jr-Flo has put together a mix for all to hear and to “shake off those fall blues”.

One of Canada’s greatest new exports, Keys N Krates will be blessing their hometown of Toronto this Saturday June 21st at Wrongbar (1279 Queen St W. Doors @ 10pm, $10 cover). This is the first time they’ve been back home for a minute and considering what’s stirring at the moment, it could also be the last time they are back for some time. With a bunch of dope new material in addition to the joints that have already got them buzzing in the Americas, you definitely don’t wanna miss this show if you’re in the GTA. (Big ups to my man Brock on the dope flyer).
On Thursday night Vancouver was treated by a performance by Keys N Krates. If you’ve been followin’ Killahbeez.com for a minute, we’ve been hypin’ these dudes up and their live shows never fail to blow muthphukkas away. Performing their versions of Aaliyah’s “One in a Million”, Dre and Snoops “Next Episode” and Fugees “Fu-gee-la” amongst others. Check out their Youtube page for all the joints they do. They also performed an original joint that they put together called “Eye Know”, which we featured and can be seen here. The energy from both the crowd and group was crazy and never slowed down for one minute. Vancouver crowds are generally known for being quite weak at live shows, but that reputation was shaken last night. That’s my word. Those of ya’ll that missed out the first Keys N Krates show here a few months ago have surely heard from those who attended how great a show it was. Well they’re back and now is your chance to get up on it.
Everyone that saw them last time is attending again and I’d imagine they’ll be rolling deeper with those they’ve recomended it to this time around. I would suggest getting there relatively early to avoid disappointment - you can bet it’ll be busy
