So a bit of a change up to our Throwback Thursday. In the past we would post a current Hip Hop or RnB song and post the sample after the jump. We’ll continue to do that here and there, but we decided it was time to update the format a bit and post old song joints that we enjoyed back in the day on the Throwback Thursday posts. With that said the format will be intro’d this week.
The early ’90s brought us some great movies, New Jack City, Menace II Society and Juice to name a few. With these great movies came great soundtracks, unlike today, movie soundtracks were actually really good. My favorite all time soundtrack was and still is Juice. Personal favorites off that soundtrack included Naughty by Nature’s “Uptown Anthem”, Eric B & Rakim’s “Juice”, Cypress Hill’s “Shoot’em Up” and Teddy Riley & Tammy Lucas “Is It Good To You”. That song is still one of my favorites to this day. The New Jack Swing era…ahhhh those were the days. Check the video and go back in a time warp to 1992. This version is actually different then the soundtrack version as the beat is slightly switched up and this version also features Wreckx-N-Effect
Alright, so most of ya’ll know I was just down in NYC for some r & r and to catch the Rock the Bells concert. The trip overall was fairly relaxing and chilled, so mission accomplished there. I also wanted to holla at some of the shop owners about this blog, again mission accomplished there. Although I was only able to hit a handful of shops, but hey the vibe was positive.
So for a recap of the actual concert click on the jump below and have a read. Pictures attached as well and trust me, you gonna wanna see these bitches.
