Top Five Best Dressed Men in 2008

Posted on 17 December 2008 by atek

Yesterday, I created a list of the top five best dressed ladies in 2008.  As a follow up to that post, I have also comprised a similar list for guys.

Depending on your interests, hobbies, favorite music and lifestyle, you may or may not agree with me. My list includes a quintessential (history making) gentleman, a sneaker head, a fashion designer, an athlete and a downtown cat located in New York. There is nothing sexier then a guy with great style.

Barack Obama

Mr. President elect made history last month after winning the popular and Electoral College votes. Barack is always dressed to the occasion in slacks and a button down. For major public speaking events, he wears tailored suits. No matter what walk of life you come from, a suit exemplifies power, prestige and business.  Every guy should have a power suit and in Barack’s case, there will be an abundance of tailored suits lined up for him in the White House.

Kanye West

Kanye is second on my list based on his appearance on the red carpet, in concert and at fashion events. He may be the only straight guy to rock pink and carry a Louis Vuitton monogramoflauge bag and get away with it. Rumor on the streets is saying that Mr. West is going to take a hiatus from his music career to focus on fashion and intern at a European fashion house. This will certainly benefit Kanye’s Pastelle clothing line, which is slated to release in 2009.

Dao-Yi Chow

The Brooklyn native left Sean John to start his own line, Public School. Since then, Dao-Yi has been featured in GQ, Complex and NY Mag offering fashion advice to guys. His style is a contemporary twist into NYC street fashion.  His inspirations from the urban lifestyle and modern fashion has created a buzz around the Fashion industry for Public School designs.

David Beckham

Being married to Posh must have its benefits because David Beckham’s choice of suits during public appearances is excellent. It’s certainly nice to see more than just the usual t-shirt, jeans and sneakers on a guy.

Oscar

You may not be familiar with Oscar or the themed 1992 parties located in New York.  As I realized that the four men above are not an average Joe, I wanted to include a guy with real street swag. Oscar’s style is fresh. The 1992 parties thrown by Va$htie and Oscar are a hit among the kids in the big apple. Seeing his pictures brings me back to the days of Kid ‘N Play, Zach Morris’ phone and great music from the ’90s.

Who do you have on your list?

The Clipse: Play Cloths (Mixtape)

Posted on 19 November 2008 by atek

The Clipse have had their hands tied with Play Cloths since they made the announcement of launching the line in Fall 2007. In honor of the new line, Complex will be releasing a new mixtape, Road To Till The Casket Drops, on December 1st.

The intro to the mixtape is below.

I can’t wait to hear the rest of the mixtape. For more updates, click here to visit Complex’s blog.

On A Related Note:

Play Cloths will kick off the launch of the new line at Commonwealth VA on November 21st. After attending Diplo’s set at Commonwealth DC, I highly recommend early arrival. I spoke to Larry this evening and he mentioned that something is in the works for the DC store. Oh really?

Stay tuned to Killah Beez for more updates later!

Complex Magazine Cover Girl: Marisa Miller

Posted on 23 October 2008 by DT

Gracing the covers of Complex Magazine this month is the lovely Marisa Miller, *gulp. Jebus she’s smoking hot, for some odd reason I thought she was older, but homegirl is actually only 30 years old. Anyways check out the photos below and the photoshoot video above. Definitely worth it. She’s also modelled for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue as well as Victoria’s Secret, oh and how can I forget, the fine publication known as Perfect 10.

Alife Everybody Mid Lux - Tweed

Posted on 17 June 2008 by Van

Alife is aiming at a broader audience this Fall and it starts with these tweed Everybody Mids.  Not only can sneakerheads cop these at Alife, Bloomingdales will be carrying them as well.  If you’re like me, you can’t stop staring at how simple yet beautiful these Everybody Mids are.  A tweed upper, pewter tongue tag and laces.  Finally, a finishing touch with the heel tag.  This is the perfect fall sneaker and I am so ready to drop $152 plus tax right now.  More images to drool over after the jump.
