Tuesday Buzz: Lace Me Up

Posted on 11 November 2008 by atek

Janet Jackson was photographed wearing Christian Louboutin lace up boots for an article featured in Prestige Magazine.

During the 2008 RTW (Ready to Wear) fashion shows, Lace up boots were seen all over the runways. Lace up boots have also become an instant hit with Celebrities this year. This season offers a variety of colors and styles, from ankle to knee length boots and peep toe ankle booties.

Boots are a universal accessory that can be worn with leggings, skirts, dresses, shorts or skinny jeans.  I would rock all the outfits below:

Too Hot Not to Cop: Equestrian Leather Boot

Posted on 05 November 2008 by Mona Alice Oakenfold

When it’s constantly cold and wet outside and your flats have been through some serious wear and tear - not to mention your feet - it’s time to pack away those cute spring/summer flats and invest in a sturdy pair of boots. A pair of boots that will keep your feet cozy and dry. A pair that will go well with almost any outfit. And most importantly, a pair that will last you the entire season. So with that in mind, I present you this week’s Too Hot Not to Cop item: the equestrian leather boot.

Once belonging only to girls that rode ponies, the equestrian leather boot has made its way onto city sidewalks as a sensible yet stylish staple in every fashionista’s shoes closet. The no-nonsense black leather and low, sturdy heel is not only a perfect match to your worn-in pair of jeans and fall jacket but also just as cute with a pair of tights and a ruffly dress. Without a doubt, the equestrian leather boot is the go-to shoe for most occasions, especially those on rainy days.

This particular equestrian leather boot comes out tops on my list because not only is it a smart-looking shoe, but it also comes with a rather smart price tag as well. At a sale price of only $99.99 (original $125) at Urban Outfitters, the leather is surprisingly buttery soft and the stitching is detailed and authentic. Reinforcements at both the toe and the heel keep this shoe from falling apart before March rolls along. So hurry over to UO before these boots sell out and you’re left out in the cold, looking ridiculous in a pair of white canvas flats.

Too Hot Not to Cop: Albion Patent Ankle Boot

Posted on 24 September 2008 by Mona Alice Oakenfold

In celebration of the recent arrival of U.K. fave Top Shop’s U.S. site (that’s right, no more converting to pounds!) and in anticipation of the New York store, this week’s Too Hot Not to Cop find is straight out of tophop.com. The ankle boot is still going strong this fall, and this adorable version from Albion takes it to the next level. I’m talkin’ patent leather, baby!

This boot has a sexy pointy toe but a sturdy 3 inch heel that won’t have you tumbling down sidewalks. The shiny leather not only lends an elemet of glam to your fall and winter evening looks, but will also work wonders in rain or shine (there is no hope for a Vancouver gal in suede boots).

I absolutely love a high-heeled ankle boots with opaque tights and mini dresses in the winter. And if you’re really looking to steal the show, throw on a pair of lacy patterned or fishnet tights, or some thigh-high socks, underneath for an of-the-moment off the runway look.

This Albion version is nearly identical to the version by Peter Jensen in the designer section of Top Shop, but at a fraction of the price. So at $135, this ankle boot is without a doubt too hot not to cop!

Buy it HERE.

Wrong Century Boots

Posted on 30 June 2008 by Hallie Valentine

These Valentino boots and shoes are inspired a century ago, but perfect for today. The button up tall boots are perfect for fall. I love the toe shape and the button details. After the jump, check out a peep toe ankle boot with laser cut detailing. Hot. Both made in Italy.
