Winter holidays is a special time of year when everyone’s stress dial is turned up, waaaaay up. So, here at Killahbeez, we like to make things easy for you peoples. Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2009 ready-to-wear show featured many styles of ripped denim in Paris. David Lerner has taken this concept and kicked it up a notch by creating two designs of ripped leggings. The ripped denim trend from the grunge era is back, in both denim and spandex/nylon.

The “Half ripped Leggings” are sliced at the thigh and cut on one side below the ankle. 

I would rock the “half ripped leggings”. However, I wouldn’t rock the other pair, “ripped leggings”.

During the 2008 RTW (Ready to Wear) fashion shows, Lace up boots were seen all over the runways. Lace up boots have also become an instant hit with Celebrities this year. This season offers a variety of colors and styles, from ankle to knee length boots and peep toe ankle booties.

Boots are a universal accessory that can be worn with leggings, skirts, dresses, shorts or skinny jeans.  I would rock all the outfits below:

For many years, an easy DIY (do it yourself) costume among teenage girls during Halloween was the Catholic School girl look. After Brit’s “. . . Baby One More Time” video appeared on MTV, teenage girls began to channel the artists’ outfit during Halloween. The holiday falls at the end of the week but this post is not about wanna-be Britneys, it’s about the ’90s grunge inspiration on fall 2008 runways.

Ready to Wear 2008 from Alexander Wang, Bailman and Preen showcased many looks inspired from ’90s grunge music. Many celebrities have been photographed wearing leggings, leather jackets, Dr. Martin’s boots, chucks and plaid clothing.

Plaid has reappeared from the ’90s and into Fall 2008’s must-have item of the season.  Good bye Catholic school girl outfits and hello to grunge hotties!

For Women, I like to piece together a fitted plaid top, tucked underneath a high-waisted black skirt. If you’re saving up for the holidays, barrow your boyfriend’s plaid button up and pair it with leggings. I like Micsha’s punk rock inspired outfit below.

To emphasize on your waist, complete the look with a belt (pictured below by Heidi Montag).
