Obamafy Yourself

Posted on 29 November 2008 by DT

So by now you’ve seen that famous Shepard Fairey print Barack Obama. A lot of peeps since then has tried to emulate and imitate, including yours truly on some pictures. Anyways this is by far the easiest way to achieve that look that I’ve come across. Here’s a plug-in developed by Dubi Kaufmann for Mac users only. This is a plug-in for the application Photo Booth, which comes loaded on all Macs. Once installed you can have your own look-a-like image. It’s a bit finicky and requires a certain background and blah blah blah. Anyways have a look at the ones I did of myself. I had to go shirtless in the top picture, you can see a bit of my tattoo on the left shoulder.

Louis Vuitton iPod Case

Posted on 20 November 2008 by Neran D

Part of the LV bespoke program this lovely iPod case can be yours, but make sure you have your plum or black amex ready to get your hands on it! I will admit I am one of the biggest LV fans out there, from my belt, wallet, business card holder, I even have the toiletry kit! I will have to pass on this for two reasons, one my pockets are not that deep yet, and two I do not have 20 iPods for this case to hold, but if you insist on getting me a nice Christmas gift to add to my LV collection then be my guest!

Soocial - An Online Address Book

Posted on 14 November 2008 by DT

Ever wish you had all your contacts in one convient spot. Well apparently Soocial is presenting that solution for all of us there allowing us to sync all our contacts from Outlook, Blackberry, cell phones, Gmail and Mac address books. The contact management solution appears to be a free service, but I’m not super positive on that so I’m gonna give it a shot and let you all know what I think. If you want to check it out for yourself hit up www.soocial.com.

*Update, I can’t find the Berry software and don’t think it’s available as of yet.

Apple: iPod Shuffle

Posted on 30 October 2008 by atek

Just in time before the holidays, Apple released the iPod Shuffle in different colors.  The holiday season is expected to take a slump this year due to the Economic crisis.  The retail market will take a heavy hit but that does not prevent companies, like Apple, to modify their marketing strategy to offer lower priced goods and/or services to consumers.  Besides, Steve Jobs has a following of Apple supporters.  For a guy who took a pay cut for an annual salary of $1, I do not underestimate his entrepreneurship approach to the Apple brand.

The retail price of the shuffle is $49.  Based on my calculations, that is a full tank and a half worth of gas at my neighborhood Exxon Mobile station.  New iPod shuffle vs. Gas?  Gas wins this battle!

If you are not in a state of crisis regarding your finances, the new iPod Nano is retailed at $149.  Happy holiday spending!

Incase Metallic Slider Case

Posted on 22 October 2008 by DT

I have to say I love Incase products, ahem free samples please? hahaha, anyways I bought an Incase bag in August while I was out in NYC for my Macbook Pro and have to say I love the light, sleek, convience of it. Well they also created iPhone slider cases in August in various different colours, now comes the release of the metallic colours, available in gold, silver, copper and gun metal. I don’t own an iPhone, but these cases look pretty great and looks to do the job that it’s suppose to, protectin’ ya phone. I’m actually considering getting one for my iTouch. Hit their blog up for more info: http://goincase.com/blog.

Apple Updates Macbook & Macbook Pro

Posted on 15 October 2008 by DT

Apple yesterday announced updated Macbooks and Macbook Pros. Both laptops are available for order from the web as well as Apple stores. Both laptops now have glass displays, which from some of the graphic designers that I’ve talked to seem to be disappointed. The Macbook underwent a huge change by changing it’s body from the durable polycarbonate to an aluminum body, something a lot of people have been waiting for, including myself. Unfortunately though the Macbook has dropped the firewire plug-ins for whatever reason, otherwise I would’ve honestly sold my current Macbook Pro and bought the smaller Macbook. The wait continues. See below for full specs:

Macbook (Starting at $1299.00)

  • 13.3-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory
  • Built-in iSight camera
  • Mini DisplayPort
  • Built-in AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi wireless networking; IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible
  • Built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate)
  • Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45 connector)
  • Two USB 2.0 ports (up to 480 Mbps)

Macbook Pro (Starting at $1999.00)

  • 15.4-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics processor with dual-link DVI support; 256MB of GDDR3 memory on 2.4GHz configuration; 512MB of GDDR3 memory on 2.53GHz and 2.8GHz configurations
  • Built-in iSight camera
  • Mini Display Port
  • Built-in AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi wireless networking; IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible
  • Built-in Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate)
  • Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45 connector)

iPod Alarm Clock

Posted on 14 October 2008 by Van

Given that I don’t own a car nowadays, my iPod Touch has been collecting a lot of dust lately.  That is unless I upload new tracks onto it or the occassional recharge.  And I’ve been casually looking for a docking station.  Behold the Sony ICF-CD3IPSIL, a cd player, clock radio with docking station for Apple iPod products.  This is what I’ve been holding out for and and JR.com has it available for pre-order.  No specs were disclosed.  But considering it tells time and wakes you up to your favorite cd, radio station or playlist, I think its worth every penny.
