I’m always on the hunt for the perfect t-shirt because I’m never fully satisfied with the one I have on. To me what makes a great t-shirt is the way it is cut, the fabric, and how comfortable it is. The past couple of years I have been wearing American Apparel t-shirts because of their appearance, the soft cotton, and it is relatively cheap (the Poly-Cotton Short Sleeve Shirt is only $18). However I have slowly been getting tired of my AA t-shirts and wondered what else is out there? Below are a couple of my favorites, and yes, they are much pricier but it might just be worth the money.

One of my fave brands for basics, American Apparel, has released a new collection called “Afrika.” The collection ranges from high-waisted leggings, bandeau bras, headbands and tube dresses, all in an “African”-inspired print in two colorways (red and black or white and black).
I’m not sure if I’m a huge fan of this collection. I think I’d probably just cop the white and black high-waisted leggings, since I’m a huge legggings nerd and the jazzy print would look sort of M.I.A-ish paired with a neon T-shirt and kicks.
Are you feelin’ the whole Afrika collection? What print do you wanna see American Apparel do next?

Came across this title as an available for purchase item on American Apparel’s webstore. I actually haven’t heard of Shawn Mortensen before. Nor did I know American Apparel now sells more than sweatshop free clothes. But the minute I saw the heavily stickered storm trooper, I needed to know more about this photography book and Mr. Mortensen himself. $25 plus shipping will be exiting my bank account very shortly. Get yours here.
