The name of these Adidases may be a mouthful, but clean is truly an understatement. These mid tops are flat out beautiful and they speak out to me. As mentioned on Sneaker News, I’m shocked these aren’t made for the Y-3 line. I really need these in my life and Caliroots got them.
Harlem’s finest is having another annual BBQ and sneaker sale going on. I’ve only been fortunate enough to make it out to a t-shirt sale. Walking out with ten shirts and spending only roughly under a bill is a great feeling. Getting fed at the same time while you cop them Bird’s Nest Forces or Vans Syndicates is a whole new level of rewarding your senses.
I was initially introduced to Surface to Air via a friend in Montreal that brought me down to Reborn some time ago. Since then I’ve made a point to stop at Odin when I make it out to NYC, IE here in Vancouver and Nomad in Toronto to get my fix in terms of gear. (Note: you can now also find it in select Barney’s stores if boutique-type stores are not carrying it in your neck of the woods).
Many of you may already be very familiar with Surface to Air’s garments and accessories - which in my personal opinion, rival and perhaps even blatantly surpass the large majority of more recognized designers in originality and execution. However, their creativity spans far beyond fashion and reaches into several other aspects of design including but not exclusive to: graphic design, art direction, video direction, interior design - and the list keeps going.
Working with everyone from Coca-Cola to Chromeo, I thought it might be a good idea to throw up this video that Adidas put together when Surface to Air designed a high top sneaker during the Adicolor campaign back in 2006. The video is well directed and gives you glimpse into a few of the creative minds behind brand.
I highly recommend spending a few minutes exploring the Surface to Air NYC website for a few more surprise collaborations you may not have known about. As well, hitting the Paris website is worth it just to see photos of the Paris store…amazing - Links Below
When the heavy weight champion wrestler Sigg Jones drinks a strange Powerdrink he loses control of himself unleashing all the good he had. His Agent will have to set him straight…
I found this gem off of Joy Engine. Although its a year old, it’s still worth the watch for those that enjoy animation and sneakers. Watch as Agent’s Dunk lows turn into something that kinda resembles a pair of Air Trainers and Force hybrids with some Kid Icarus wings.
Via High Snobiety, is a new pair of Y-3s that commemorate another store opening in the NYC. Denim and black upper is a good colorway combination. However, I think the real treat is the hidden lace loops and seamless Y-3/Adidas stripes. The price tag is quite hefty at $500 a pair, but there are only 50 made. Make the leap to see another image.
I saw these off of Complex’s blog and immediately thought of the Materials of the World: Indonesia Pack Metro Attitudes. Having seen them in on my friend, Rasika, I have to admit they were the first pairs of recent Adidas sneakers I fell in love with. My very words were, “Ras!!! show me where you get them. They’re soooo shiny!”
Back on track with the above mid tops. Pro skater, Tim O’Connor’s signature shoe brings back memories of when I first saw the Indonesia Pack. But they are on the subtle end. His inspiration for the natural colorway you ask? His coffee table. I stay true to low key colorways and this pair will likely end up my feet. Look for them at any boutique that has an Adidas skate account. Also check the back side for more images.
