In the spirit of Casio’s G-Shock line of watches, the oh so portable Exilim camera line receives a tougher looking sibling, the EX-G1.  The resolution specs are competitive at 12.1 megapixel, but the high selling point is the outershell.  Consisting of polycarbonate protectors on the side, an acrylic lcd panel, stainless steel body and tempered multi-coated lens means this guy is meant to survive even the clumsiest of hands.  The Casio Exilim EX-G1 should be in stores next month and retail for $300.

Threadless has teamed up with Griffin Technology to put together some distinctive iPhone cases. These cases uses Griffin’s existing joints, but they get wrapped with a few original images from Threadless. Both designs that you see here are available for $34.99 and available in Apple Retail Stores right now.

About two years ago, I gave mention to Johnny Lee’s homebrewed headtracking Wiimote Hack.  Ever since, I haven’t seen much on tracking gadgets.  That is until rAndom international has teamed up with designer, Chris O’Shea.  rAndom international’s interactive art print, ‘Study for a Mirror‘ reminds me of a futuristic etch-a-sketch.  Except all the hardwork in producing the artwork is done for you.  The frame recognizes when someone is standing in front of it, tracks the face (via a tracking application written by Chris O’Shea) and paints it onto the blank light canvas.  The end product then slowly fades away and repeats for the next face.

For those that are interested in this interactive art print, Carpenters Workshop Gallery has available for purchase.  With an edition of 8,  I’m wondering how expensive each unit is.

Last week we posted the preview of the upcoming collab between Parisian graffiti artist André and Incase. Well that collab has fully dropped now and we can view the laptop sleeve and iPhone case in full. This is the fifth installment of Curated by Arkitip and features André’s artwork with a few distinctive screen-printed logo. Today one of the most anticipated video games, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, is launching on the XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3, with launch events being held in numerous locations and the game being released early this morning at mid-night. As mentioned this is one of the most anticipated games this year, great graphics, great storyline and a large online community helps extend the gameplay of the title. I, myself will be copping this today as well and shortly after I will be hibernating for the rest of Fall, Winter and possibly the Spring. Check the trailers below.

Designer Stephane Perruchon had die-hard Playstation fans in mind when he came up with the Dualshock Coffee Table.  Although, its a cool concept in the making, I’m wondering about the allocation of the buttons to of the remote stands.  As seen in the gallery below, the triangle, circle, square and x button on both remotes face each other.  With that in mind, even the layman can call this concept out as a misrepresentation of the Sony Playstation remote.  Hopefully things will be cleared up should this reach production.

Being that I collect urban vinyl, its natural to peek into other limited edition goods.  Recently Zippo Lighters has partnered up with Namco Bandai to produce a limited run of lighters to celebrate Pac Man’s 30th anniversary.  The arcade classics include Xevious, Pac Man, Dig Dug and Galaxian.  At $93 a pop, these are a bit pricey, but well worth it for any fan.

When shopping for an iPod docking station, there are certain variables to consider.  But perhaps the first and foremost is size.  It may be safe to say we’re all hard-coded to think that a docking station should be as portable as the iPod itself.  Not with the docking station seen above.  The Wall of Sound by Brothers may be the biggest iPod docking station to date.  Jus don’t plan on playing a 92kbps mp3 anytime on this system.  The Wall of Sound is available for pre-order here.

Incase has dropped a couple of teasers on their site for the upcoming collaboration piece by André for Curated by Arkitip. So far the two pics they’ve released hints at a iPhone 3Gs case as well as a 15″ laptop Sleeve that features André’s signature “Mr.A” stick figure character on the zipper pull. It’ll be interesting to see what the final collection will look like as the iPhone case and the sleeve are completely different and don’t seem to match.

Here’s a cool looking piece of hardware for all you computer nerds, no worries I include myself, from Intelligent-design. What is it you ask? I’ve been on the lookout for some more portable storage devices, especially with prices being so cheap and all. I came across Clickfree’s C2 portable drive, which comes in two sizes, either a 250GB or a 500GB drive and based on the above images, the drive looks to be tiny. RIM has officially announced that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is set to be released in November. This phone will lose the dreaded trackball and utilize the optical trackpad, which is a welcomed change. In the US the BlackBerry 9700 will be available on AT&T and T-Mobile, though the two devices will be slightly different as T-Mobile employs a different spectrum for 3G. While in Canada we’ll see it on Rogers, Telus and Bell, yeah that’s right, if you didn’t know Telus and Bell are both launching their new network soon. So Canadians if you want to buy one from the US make sure you get the AT&T version as that’s the one that will be compatible with the 3G network.

I just copped an iPhone 3Gs and switched from the 9000 Bold, but this has me seriously considering switching back to BlackBerry. Sweet trackpad, stacked specs.

Canon is set to drop their latest DSLR in the form of the 1D Mark IV. This DSLR is a BEAST! It comes packed with 16 megapixel, ISO up to 12,800 but expandable to 102,400, 45-point auto focus system, 10 frames per second bursts annnnnnd 1080p video compared to Nikon D3s’ 780p. I’m an avid user of Nikon, started with the D60 and gradually moved up to the D90 and looking to make a move some time to a D3s or whatever more awesomer comes out at the time, but this Canon truly is a jaw dropper. Available late December for $5000.

Here’s a nifty Youtube clip from an animator named PersonaSama commissioned by Syke energy drink.  The drink itself may be questionable as a real product, but the video was definitely entertaining to watch.  In short, our animated hero gets sucked into a video game world where familiar scenaries from the likes of Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are borrowered.  After several views, wishful thinking would be for a flash based game in the near future.

The above NES cartridge emulator console leaves me speechless.  I love how this home brewed emulator has the portable media player and controls flushed into the cartridge so flawlessly.  Watch the above video to see the system in action.  The video is a reminder for me to go out and buy the pocket retro game emulator asap.  But I am curious to see if the owner of this unit has accepted any commission work to reproduce the cartridge handheld.

Perusing the Internets this weekend and just doing some catch up reading, I came across this hilarious article on Yahoo, that had a quote saying: “…according to a recent report, Chevys proudly proclaim of their owners, “I don’t use the Internet.”" HAHAHA. The article breaks down the numbers futher by saying “13% of Chevy owners don’t use the Web” and goes on to say only 35% of Chevy owners have a college degree or higher compared that to 70% for Honda owners. Other cars mentioned in this study are Honda, Ford, Mini, Bentley and Ferrari.
