This Saturday, November 15th Mean Red, Good Peoples and Bijules will be throwing a party with the beats being supplied by Boy 8 Bit, Nick Hook and Jubilee. The venue, 88 Palace, located in the heart of Chinatown in NYC, 88 East Broadway to be exact if you must. There will be an open Asahi bar, until supplies last, with three different flavors for your tasting pleasures. Unplggd showcased this cd-r spindle reused as tupperware for a toasted bagel with avocado.  Personally, I think this is as great idea.  Especially when you run out of those 16 to 32 oz Chinese takeout containers.  The only issue here is you can only pack bagels with spread.  Otherwise, be prepared to  increase prep time to account for cutting holes into lunch meat and lettuce to accomodate the center post.

This here has got to be the craziest pumpkin carving I’ve seen in a minute. It’s the likeness of the Predator and the details are insane. As Brownkid over at ALBOTAS said “I never noticed how much the Predator’s mouth looks like a vagina.”

Buns and Guns is a military themed burger joint in Beirut, Lebanon. The motif starts out with sandbags in front of the restaurant. Guns and netting are strategically placed along the walls and ceiling. The staff even wears military attire to include camo tee and the chef is recognized by a helmet. Interested in a chicken sandwich with fries? Its relabeled as a magnum pistol with grenades on the bullet shaped menu. I’m not certain how well this idea will be accepted in the states, but the clip just made me extremely hungry.

Back in August we briefly mentioned that Jack White of The White Stripes was working with Alicia Keys on the new theme song for the upcoming James Bond film Quantum of Solace. Well, reports have it that he’s not happy with the new development that Sony Pictures have allowed Coca Cola to use a snippet of the theme song for their upcoming commercial for the product Coke Zero which happens to be in a joint promotion with the film. “Jack White was commissioned by Sony Pictures to write a theme song for the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, not for Coca Cola,” Jack’s spokesperson recently says.

In related news both Jack White and Alicia Keys have reportedly shot the music video for the theme song back on September 8th in Toronto, as both were there to promote their individual films at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Here’s another event not to be missed this weekend.  I don’t venture off to Williamsburg too often, but this sounds like a really good time.  On a side note, I wonder how playing Rockband out of a Toyota Matrix works?  Does the drummer, lead singer, guitarist and bassist huddle around the trunk?

This is a post ode to fellow blogger, Mona Alice Oakenfold.  Through a previous post, its safe to say she is a bacon lover.  Bacon vodka is just that, vodka infused with bacon.  It may or may not appeal to the masses, but it exists.  Thanks to McAuliflower over at Brownie Points, here is the recipe.  The recipe is very fail-safe, so anyone can attempt it.  One great suggestion that really stood out was making a bloody mary with the bacon infused vodka.  On a side note, I am wondering if Mona Alice Oakenfold has had bacon wrapped dates aka meat candy yet?

Huh…did none of her peoples think this was wrong? In a new Ortega commercial featuring Paul Hamm, Morgan Hamm and Shawn Johnson, they’re selling the aforementioned Ortega taco shells. Here’s a transcript of her line incase you’re still shocked over the video: “My tacos the best. I love Ortegas taco sauce, it makes my taco pop!”. “Makes my taco pop”! Jebus, shouldn’t her peoples have caught this?

My palate normally doesn’t accept sweet and salty food in the same sitting.  However, the original post from Neatorama had me ask the same questions.  Is this really the perfect combination?  And do you cut up a slice of steak and eat it simultaneously with the strawberries?  Or are the strawberries just a form of dessert?  Well after some googling, I found this recipe with the same ingredients that sounds like a real winner.  I’d actually like to replicate whats on the billboard at home with a flank steak, some fresh strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.

My jaw simply dropped when I saw this.  Food and my all time favorite pair of Nike Running sneakers go hand in hand like music and wine.  Olle Hemmendorff along with 7 other creative folks were requested to give their intepretation of Nike Sportswear.  Hemmendorff, of course was blessed with the AM90s as his theme.  At this point, I don’t know if I’d want to try and recreate this or request a higher resolution to print and frame on a wall.

The Electrolux was designed for those that want a next level dinner party experience.  Guests are encouraged to cook for themselves.  However, the group can also work together and delegate roles as one may have a specialty in stir frying and another may enjoy grilling.  Either way, the Electrolux provides a fun dining experience.  Designer, Chris Fox, also wanted to make cleaning simple.  Simply detach each of the individual plates and rinse.  And afterwards stack them on the included cradle.  I really need one of these in my life.

This sturdy nylon belt feature 6 plastic cup holders, sized to fit cans or bottles. Forget about ever having your beer mysteriously disappear from the fridge at a party, it’s time to rock them shits on your hips son.

I last mentioned about Joey Roth’s Sorapot back in November.  I was competely mesmerized by its form.  The newly redesigned Sorapot comes in a mirror finish that can only be acheived by hand polishing.  In addition to the newly revised Sorta pot is also a pair of insulated glass tea cups.  Finally, there is a teak finished cradle for the Sorapot.  The mirror polished Sorapot is available now, whereas the tea cup set and cradle will be released in Fall.

If you’re sucker for attractive packaging like myself, Hint Water should pique your interest.  Currently, they are offered in commercial fridges along the West Coast, but are also available online.  For personal reasons, I’d stay away from the honeydew-hibiscus.  However, if I had to choose a poison, it would be the watermelon, cucumber, pear or tropical punch.

So I received this hilarious commercial in my inbox yesterday and just thought I had to share it. Initially I was like “wow Guiness is mad bold for doing this”. But for some reason it just didn’t seem right to me, so I did a little research and found out that this indeed is not an official ad spot done by Guiness.

Here’s a comment from the director:

It really isn’t real. I shot the ad with no intention of sending it to Guiness because of the content. IT was meant to either make people laugh or get really disgusted. I rather people felt the former because that’s why it was made. Just for fun. Oh and it only cost $320 for the ad. Harlem’s finest is having another annual BBQ and sneaker sale going on.  I’ve only been fortunate enough to make it out to a t-shirt sale.  Walking out with ten shirts and spending only roughly under a bill is a great feeling.  Getting fed at the same time while you cop them Bird’s Nest Forces or Vans Syndicates is a whole new level of rewarding your senses.
