In the spirit of Casio’s G-Shock line of watches, the oh so portable Exilim camera line receives a tougher looking sibling, the EX-G1.  The resolution specs are competitive at 12.1 megapixel, but the high selling point is the outershell.  Consisting of polycarbonate protectors on the side, an acrylic lcd panel, stainless steel body and tempered multi-coated lens means this guy is meant to survive even the clumsiest of hands.  The Casio Exilim EX-G1 should be in stores next month and retail for $300.

Artist, Ian Millard recently teamed up with Japan’s Noise King to produce a print called ‘LV Cans‘.  Instantly folks should recognize the Vuitton monograms and Whole Food’s 365 Organic line of food products.  But some of us may correlate this with another famous pop art soup can piece.  ‘LV Cans‘ was produced using 10 hand-cut stencils and spray paint. For those curious behind the process can watch Ian’s video below.  With an edition of 15, the 30″ x 40″ prints retail for $188.  Patrons have a choice between a gold or silver version.

British artist Damien Hirst teams up with Supreme to collaborate on a skate deck. The deck utilizes his iconic graphic Spot paintings that depict rows of randomly-colored circles. The collaboration will see a series of five different decks being released alongside a Box Logo t-shirt that’s also been designed by Hirst.

Officially available in-store on November 19th and online on the 23rd. Japan can expect to see this in-store on the 21st.

Every now and then the internets surprises us with phenomenal folks.  Jyothi Rai is one of them.  The former body builder has a new calling as Chitradurga District’s very own Spiderman.  He entertains tourists by scaling the 300 foot Chitradurga Fort without harnesses day in and day out.  Watch the quick minute plus Youtube and be amazed.

About two years ago, I gave mention to Johnny Lee’s homebrewed headtracking Wiimote Hack.  Ever since, I haven’t seen much on tracking gadgets.  That is until rAndom international has teamed up with designer, Chris O’Shea.  rAndom international’s interactive art print, ‘Study for a Mirror‘ reminds me of a futuristic etch-a-sketch.  Except all the hardwork in producing the artwork is done for you.  The frame recognizes when someone is standing in front of it, tracks the face (via a tracking application written by Chris O’Shea) and paints it onto the blank light canvas.  The end product then slowly fades away and repeats for the next face.

For those that are interested in this interactive art print, Carpenters Workshop Gallery has available for purchase.  With an edition of 8,  I’m wondering how expensive each unit is.

Designer Kicki Edgren Nyborg has decided that wallpapers shouldn’t be boring and repetitive.  Instead they should be interactive, functional and whimsical.  As far as functionality goes, her “Off the Wall” wallpaper is able to house lighting and storage.  Her second design, “Trans Wall” is meant for those that want to go against the grain with whimsical patterns that create flow for the chosen room.  Finally, for kids (and adults who love stickers), there is the “Wallplay” concept.  With a scenery to start off with, stickers are highly encouraged and included to create your own dream wallpaper.  Depending on the level of intensity and purpose, Ms. Nyborg probably has something  to breathe some life into any given room.

Japanese dudes think of everything don’t they? They’re usually reliable for things like virtual dating video games and life-like robots for kids over the age of 9, but while scouring a few non-translated pages the other day I found something truly awesome. Check out these Sega Lighters from a company I can’t translate the name of. I have no idea how much these would cost over here on the other side of the pond, nor do I even really know how someone over here would get a hold of one, but I do think it would be pretty awesome to propel actual fire from a Sega Saturn. I never owned an actual Sega system in real life because I always felt they were garbage (my daily biased comment), but I wouldn’t be opposed to lighting something on fire with one.

Here is a design that has your magazine’s best interest first before its owner.  Sure it looks comfortable, but the focal point is magazine storage.  Jules and Jeremy’s HOI Magazine Chair is made of quality MDF finished with matte white lacquer. The magazines look like they’re suspended in air look due to glass shelving.  Although its original purpose was for an ad campaign, the HOI Chair can be made to order.

When it comes to gadget recharging, wires can be quite the hassle.  Some can be too long that you don’t know what to do with them.  While some can be too short, that the object being charged (in this case a cellphone), has to be right next to the outlet.  Cagnina Design has an affordable solution that will help clean the clutter.  The MI-) cell phone cradle comes in six available colors and offers shelf space to park the phone when being charged.  Cagnina’s MI-O Cellphone cradle can be bought here.

I’m sure by now we’ve all seen Olle Hemmendorff’s Air Max 90 ‘Hambuuurger‘ edition.  Coming from the same continent, twin brothers, Remigijus and Egidijus Praspaliauskashave have designed a series of shoes made entirely of bread.  They come in several shapes and sizes and even have custom cardboard boxes.  But the real question is, after the gimmick wears off, would you wear them or eat them?  Check out the gallery below for the entire collection of ‘bread shoes’.

For those that couldn’t get enough of Where the Wild Things Are, David Flores has a ‘Max‘ print available at Pandora’s Prints.  Measuring in at 16″ x 20″ with an edition of 20 pieces, the red ‘Max‘ print goes for $40.  In addition, the green colorway can be purchased at David Flores’s site for $55.

I’ve been eyeing bikes for a minute now, but it wasn’t until this past Summer that I finally jumped in and copped one. Two things I knew in all the years of searching for a bike: 1. I wanted a 24 – 26″ bike and 2. I wanted a BMX style. I ended up copping a We The People (WTP) 24″ Avenue Cruiser that’s so sick, the shit is a head turner. I’ve been periodically checking the WTP site to see what updates they had for 2010 and well I found that they released their catalogue for complete builds. Every model went under heavy cosmetic change in terms of color combinations and such. The Jusitce, Versus, Trust and Zodiac look the sickest in my books, these aren’t all the color combos as you’ll see if you download the catalog, these are the primary and then there’s a secondary, with the exception of the Avenue 24″, which I have to admit this years model doesn’t look as nice as last years. Designer Stephane Perruchon had die-hard Playstation fans in mind when he came up with the Dualshock Coffee Table.  Although, its a cool concept in the making, I’m wondering about the allocation of the buttons to of the remote stands.  As seen in the gallery below, the triangle, circle, square and x button on both remotes face each other.  With that in mind, even the layman can call this concept out as a misrepresentation of the Sony Playstation remote.  Hopefully things will be cleared up should this reach production.

Here’s a fitted that combines two of my favorite things, plaid and Kidrobot’s Dunny silhouette.  Partially playful, this 59fifty features an all over Kidrobot print on the underbill and a large embroidery of a Dunny.  The inside of the embroidery is filled in with a plaid texture with colors seen throughout the entire cap.  The cap is available now at all Kidrobot locations and online.

I don’t think I’ve seen a shortage of seating at any airport terminal.  But for those want the homely feel of a sectional piece, design student, Erik De Nijs, is who you want to contact.  As individual pieces, each suitcase provide their own sense of personality and function.  But combined, the four couch textured suit cases form a nice cozy couch perfect for long layovers.  I’d imagine if this set makes its way into production, the pieces would be given a uniform color option.

Being that I collect urban vinyl, its natural to peek into other limited edition goods.  Recently Zippo Lighters has partnered up with Namco Bandai to produce a limited run of lighters to celebrate Pac Man’s 30th anniversary.  The arcade classics include Xevious, Pac Man, Dig Dug and Galaxian.  At $93 a pop, these are a bit pricey, but well worth it for any fan.

Nesting tables are a dime in a dozen from a wide array of designers.  However, designer Florian Krautli, has one upped everyone by making his tables stackable.  In fact, Krautli built the  tables so can they be used in anyway possible the user envisions.  Take a look at the gallery below to see how the tables can be converted into shelves, tables or simply stored away.

Yoonsang Kim has a good idea going.  Create a hybrid utensil called the Chopork and serves as both chopstick and fork alike.  Should someone want to ease into chopstick use, this may be a great way to start.  And if they’re not comfortable with the chopstick mode, simply snap the two pieces back together and use it as a fork.  Taking a look at the image above,  I’m not sure if I would use either method for eating cheesecake.  My dessert eating rituals always include pairing up with a cup of tea and a spoon.

Here’s an alternative to buying wall shelving or storage units for any given room.  Designer Maja Ganszyniec developed the Pocket Wall with the ideal that wallpaper is like gift wrap.  The aesthetics come in the form of  perforated paper.  As an added bonus, each sheet doubles as storage.  So whether you have premium spacing, want to revamp your living space and/or want to avoid buying a stud finder, this is the best solution to date.
