One of Vancouver’s very own talented artists and a friend of Killahbeez, Jeff Hamada, was recently randomly selected by the peoples at Converse in contributing a design to the Converse (Product)Red campaign, the campaign is commissioning a 100 musicians, graphic and graffiti artists from all over the world to create their own piece. We here at Killahbeez have posted a few of the products in the past. 10% of the net wholesale price from the campaign will go towards the charity (Product)Red, which is a global charity that is aiding in the fight against HIV / AIDS in Africa. The design is a drawing of 100 hands, to represent the hands of the world reaching out to help Africa, and the hands of Africa reaching out for help.

Here’s a video that came way from my buddy Gord, and yes this is what we do at work, we just send links back and forth. Here’s a new ad from Nike that stars Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls and LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavs. LeBron dons a costume and plays the part of “Business LeBron”, there’s a whole set of characters that have been seen in numerous commercials, Wise LeBron, Kid LeBron, LeBron James as himself and the aforementioned Business LeBron. The commercial is mad cheesy and I definitely think that they’re trying to be cheesy and funny, very much making the sneaker experience relateable to a sexual experience. I mean we all know Nicole Scherzinger is fine, there’s no denying that, but people that know me know that I joke alot about foot fetishes, well I have to say, she’s got some FINE ASS FEETS, hammer toes need not apply. Thank you, come again.

Favorite parts:

• When he gives her the red laces, it’s like he just gave her a sex toy or something. Notice the laces are in the shape of the number 6, this is the 6th shoe in the series.
• When the shot cuts to the fish aka Sir Charles in the tank staring at the action.
• “Oh girl, don’t pump fake me now”.

The Air Zoom Verona has become one of my favorite SB silhouettes.  The most recent release comes in a grey colorway and also features waterproof upper.  Aside from the brown accents, what stands out is the imprinted Nike swoosh on the tongue.  I’m glad to see Nike SB is stepping away from the elephant/cracked cement look for a bit.  Look for these Air Zoom Veronas to arrive at your local SB account really soon.

Fernando A. Robert’s “Shrine Shoe Rack” reminds me a lot of Bruno Rainaldi’s Array bookcase.  Whereas one is a lightweight bookcase solution to small spacing, the other is a way for us sneakerheads to let go of the boxes cluttering up in our rooms.  Both shelving units give their respectable objects a floating appearance.  The Shrine Shoe Rack can be picked up with all mounting gear for a very reasonable price here.  Personally, I would like to buy several units to display the shoes I have in rotation.  Ok, so I won’t really be tossing away Nike and Vans boxes anytime soon.  But seeing the sneakers on the Shrine racks will bring me endless amount of joy day in and day out.

The safari print is a total hit or miss with me.  To date, I’ve only taken a liking to the AM90 and AM90 boots Safari.  Heres a colorway combo that works extremly well with the safari print and on my all time favorite silhouette, the Air Force 1.  Introducing the Nike Air Force 1 High ZF.   Aside from the colorway, what I like most is the sneaker gets the same round lace treatment as the recently released Nike Snowboarding boots.  With word that Stash had involvement in these Forces, you can be they’ll be limited.  Make the leap for more pics.

During the 2008 RTW (Ready to Wear) fashion shows, Lace up boots were seen all over the runways. Lace up boots have also become an instant hit with Celebrities this year. This season offers a variety of colors and styles, from ankle to knee length boots and peep toe ankle booties.

Boots are a universal accessory that can be worn with leggings, skirts, dresses, shorts or skinny jeans.  I would rock all the outfits below:

The latest offering from Nike are two pairs of Dunks adorned with premium leather, suede, perforated leather and canvas.  Dubbed the Winter Animal pack, the black and white pair are called the “Huskie” and the all white pair, the “Polar Bear”.  From a first glance, the Huskie seem a lot more winter ready in comparison to the Polar Bear.  It’s kinda hard to associate white perforated leather and canvas with the cold weather.  But regardless both pairs look amazing.  Currently, they are available at Corporate and Proper in a full range of sizes.

On Friday, November 7th, Vancouverite Jeff Martin launched his latest retail store called Freshmans, which is conveniently located downtown Vancouver along Robson Street. Those in the city know that Jeff Martin also owns another local store called Dipt and has been up and running successfully since 2000.

So why another store under a different name? Well, quite simply put, Freshmans is for the grown gentleman. Carrying brands such as Bruxe, Canada Goose, Crooks & Castles, Hot Air, Levi’s, PRPS, Reigning Champ, Staple, Stussy Deluxe, Converse, Gourmet and Clae to name just a few. The lines that are carried will be more simple with a back to basics approach while helping you look fly and not like a kid will all over prints.

The several occassions that I’ve posted about Vans were always from the Syndicate or Vault line.  Here is a pair of Prizz High’s that belong in neither category.  I absolutely love the combination of curdoroy and velcro straps on a high top silhouette.  Although I’m not big on the rubber toebox, it does blends well with the rest of the sneaker.   As a web exclusive, these can be copped at Urban Outfitters.

SAN DIEGO — The streetwear bubble may have burst, but the Agenda Trade Show seems to be on solid ground, judging by its September incarnation in San Diego earlier this month. Although traffic at the show appeared light, streetwear exhibitors and retailers seemed committed to Agenda, even after other trade shows—like MAGIC’s highly lauded S.L.A.T.E. launch—have honed in on the streetwear category.

According to Agenda cofounder Aaron Levant, the show drew the same attendance it did for its last two shows, and filled the same amount of space, but with a smaller number of vendors. “A lot of little companies have disappeared,” said Levant, “but the ones that stuck around have made a name for themselves, and are now becoming dominant brands in the marketplace.”

Big things are popping over at Agenda HQ with plans on an upcoming east coast show.  And of course this feature article on DNR.  Maybe I’ll get an invite next time around eh Neran?

Coming out real soon from Nike Sportswear are a pair of Nike Air Approach Mids.  The silhouette instantly remind me of the Nike Baltoros.  And from a quick glance, they also share slight similarities with the AM90 “Safari’s”.  Regardless of what they look like, they are simply beautiful.  Along with a pair of Lava Dome, Wildwood Supreme, and Revaderchi Supreme, these will be released early November.  Wishful thinking would be an arrival at 21 Mercer Street.

I’m really looking forward to these weatherproof Air Force Ones.  First off, the tough exterior reminds me of my all time favorite Winter sneakers, the N2 Gore-tex high tops.  Minus the difference in model height, the outsole also receives an inclement weather friendly treatment as well.   Further proof is evidenced on the heel with an embroidery that reads, “0.44 Sticky Rubber”.  Finally, the olive khaki, white and gum light brown colorway undeniably makes a perfect pair of sneakers for Winter.  Look forward to these Forces to drop real soon.

The “Resort Collection” is Gourmet’s latest endeavor for Winter 2008.  The collection consists of two sneakers, the Due and the Quattro.  The Due comes in full grain calf suede, braided laces, double sided zipper closure and memory foam insoles.  The available colorways are black and bone. The Quattro also features braided laces and memory foam insoles.  However, the upper comes in full grain tumbled calf nubuck and comes in dark chocolate and black.  Being that memory foam is synonymous with comfort, I really can’t wait to try both pairs on at Cmonwealth this December.

Barneys teams up with Alife again for another Everybody Mid collabo.  This time around, the Everybody High also receives the Barneys treatment, hence the name, Orange Pack.  For Fall 2008, orange accents, full grain, perforated and crinkled patent leather are adorned on both sneakers.  The mids as you see above, go for $145 and the highs after the jump are only $150.  Although, both dreamsicle colorways are better suited for the spring/summer, I wouldn’t sleep on either sneaker.  You can cop them at select Barneys retail stores or on their Barneys online.
