Leighton Meester makes an appearance in the upcoming issue of GQ, shot by photographer Mark Abrahams. To say that these photos are hot are a bit of an understatement. In addition to the hot photoshoot there’s also an interview that’s posted as well, in it she talks about…what else, Gossip Girl and GoodFellas!?! Ahhh I think I’m in love. Latest campaign from Passionata for Spring / Summer 2010 featuring Israeli super model Bar Refaeli. The ads take on a playful yet sexy vibe, a modern day take on a pin-up girl essentially. The photos were shot by photographer Greg Kadel, his body of work is a long list of celebs, publications and advertising credits.

On my recent hunt for vinyl toys I came across Treeson, I was instantly moved by what happened to him. You wouldn’t expect that you would feel such compassion for a toy. But Bubi Au Yeung the designer of Treeson has created this phenomenal back-story and message that came from an article that she read about deforestation. In one of her interviews back in April of this year she describes Treeson as a character who wants to share with the world “the importance of protecting our nature and spread love among us.”

Treeson was born August of 2005 in a forest and raised by a tree that was eventually cut down by a logger. The result of it all was that he got stabbed in the heart by a branch and left homeless. Even though Treeson hasn’t had the best start in life, he goes around finding broken hearts, mends them and delivers them to the people who have lost them. The more I learn about this little guy, the more I wish I could be a part of his world.

Terry Richardson has been doing quite a bit of work for H&M, if you didn’t know he shot the whole Jimmy Choo and H&M collaboration, parts of that ad campaign can be seen here. Here he’s shooting model Maryna Linchuk, seen in various lingerie and sleepwear from H&M, these can be seen in the latest H&M magazine and possibly other magazines down the road.

In the spirit of Casio’s G-Shock line of watches, the oh so portable Exilim camera line receives a tougher looking sibling, the EX-G1.  The resolution specs are competitive at 12.1 megapixel, but the high selling point is the outershell.  Consisting of polycarbonate protectors on the side, an acrylic lcd panel, stainless steel body and tempered multi-coated lens means this guy is meant to survive even the clumsiest of hands.  The Casio Exilim EX-G1 should be in stores next month and retail for $300.

Artist, Ian Millard recently teamed up with Japan’s Noise King to produce a print called ‘LV Cans‘.  Instantly folks should recognize the Vuitton monograms and Whole Food’s 365 Organic line of food products.  But some of us may correlate this with another famous pop art soup can piece.  ‘LV Cans‘ was produced using 10 hand-cut stencils and spray paint. For those curious behind the process can watch Ian’s video below.  With an edition of 15, the 30″ x 40″ prints retail for $188.  Patrons have a choice between a gold or silver version.

Threadless has teamed up with Griffin Technology to put together some distinctive iPhone cases. These cases uses Griffin’s existing joints, but they get wrapped with a few original images from Threadless. Both designs that you see here are available for $34.99 and available in Apple Retail Stores right now.

British artist Damien Hirst teams up with Supreme to collaborate on a skate deck. The deck utilizes his iconic graphic Spot paintings that depict rows of randomly-colored circles. The collaboration will see a series of five different decks being released alongside a Box Logo t-shirt that’s also been designed by Hirst.

Officially available in-store on November 19th and online on the 23rd. Japan can expect to see this in-store on the 21st.

About two years ago, I gave mention to Johnny Lee’s homebrewed headtracking Wiimote Hack.  Ever since, I haven’t seen much on tracking gadgets.  That is until rAndom international has teamed up with designer, Chris O’Shea.  rAndom international’s interactive art print, ‘Study for a Mirror‘ reminds me of a futuristic etch-a-sketch.  Except all the hardwork in producing the artwork is done for you.  The frame recognizes when someone is standing in front of it, tracks the face (via a tracking application written by Chris O’Shea) and paints it onto the blank light canvas.  The end product then slowly fades away and repeats for the next face.

For those that are interested in this interactive art print, Carpenters Workshop Gallery has available for purchase.  With an edition of 8,  I’m wondering how expensive each unit is.

Designer Kicki Edgren Nyborg has decided that wallpapers shouldn’t be boring and repetitive.  Instead they should be interactive, functional and whimsical.  As far as functionality goes, her “Off the Wall” wallpaper is able to house lighting and storage.  Her second design, “Trans Wall” is meant for those that want to go against the grain with whimsical patterns that create flow for the chosen room.  Finally, for kids (and adults who love stickers), there is the “Wallplay” concept.  With a scenery to start off with, stickers are highly encouraged and included to create your own dream wallpaper.  Depending on the level of intensity and purpose, Ms. Nyborg probably has something  to breathe some life into any given room.

Its no secret that I’m a huge fan of Terry Richardsons work, but usually I’m posting shots he’s done for women campaigns and such, well ladies, today this is for you. Here’s a shoot that Terry Richardson did for an editorial called “Work It Out!”, which is appearing in the November 16th issue of VMAN. You gotta love how Richardson uses playfulness and sexuality in all of his pictures and this shoot is no different. Models appearing in the shoot are Garrett Neff, Nate Gill, Cory Bond, Tanner Tillung and Grayson Gettys, these aren’t all the images but you get the idea. Now, Let’s Get Physical!

East coast fans of Audrey Kawasaki should rejoice.  For those of you that follow her on twitter and her blog should already know that she will have a solo exhibit at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York next month.  The opening reception will be held on December 12th from 7-9pm with pieces displayed until January 9th.  As stated in her blog, she will unveil 20 new pieces.  26 days can’t come any sooner!

Japanese dudes think of everything don’t they? They’re usually reliable for things like virtual dating video games and life-like robots for kids over the age of 9, but while scouring a few non-translated pages the other day I found something truly awesome. Check out these Sega Lighters from a company I can’t translate the name of. I have no idea how much these would cost over here on the other side of the pond, nor do I even really know how someone over here would get a hold of one, but I do think it would be pretty awesome to propel actual fire from a Sega Saturn. I never owned an actual Sega system in real life because I always felt they were garbage (my daily biased comment), but I wouldn’t be opposed to lighting something on fire with one.

Here’s Rachel Bilsons set of photos in the latest issue of Flaunt Magazine. She seems to be making the rounds and doing a few of these shoots and I have to say, I’m loving it. I’ve always had a crush on her. She’s hot as balls and her sense of style is amazing. Her latest project, New York, I Love You, can be seen now and will be making an appearance on the show How I Met Your Mother later in the season.

Vancouver-based photographer Dina Goldstein has caused quite a bit of controversy with her Fallen Princesses collection.

The collection features Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, The Princess and the Pea, and Little Red Riding Hood.

Her inspiration:

“As a young girl, growing up abroad, I was not exposed to Fairy Tales. These new discoveries lead to my fascination with the origins of Fairy Tales. I explored the original brothers Grimm’s stories and found that they have very dark and sometimes gruesome aspects, many of which were changed by Disney. I began to imagine Disney’s perfect Princesses juxtaposed with real issues that were affecting real women around me, such as illness, addiction and self-image issues.”

Here’s a look at the Natalie Portman shoot done by photographer Mario Testino for the upcoming issue of V Magazine. As you can see from the gallery below there’s three different covers for the issue. I really like Testino’s photographs as he uses color very beautifully and Portman as usual looks hot as hell.

Vinyl figures with a flock finish isn’t entirely new.  From Sket-One’s Kong Dunny to previous years Valentine’s Edition Be@rbricks, we’ve seen a fair share of this texture.  For 2010, Toy2R will deliver an entire series of flocked finished DIY Qees with a wide range of colors.  What I’m curious about is having seen the above colors, what should we expect of the “chase” figure?  We’ll just have to find out as next year rolls around.

Both Dave and I agree this is Shepard’s best print for 2009 (our own opinion of course).  Coming from a slight hint of Burmese in our blood, we got a lot of love for Shepard’s latest work.  But for me personally, I’m in love with Shepard’s revisit to the same colorway as the ‘Peace Goddess‘.  Well the gold variant anyways.  The ‘Burmese Monk‘ print measures in at 18″ x 24″ and will go for $45 this Thursday at a random time.  Even with 450 units, I’m sure this will sell out under 5 minutes.  Best of luck to all that want this one.
