This Canadian boy makes good. Originally from what most would assume to be a music wasteland, Mac Demarco, an Edmonton, Alberta native played to a rowdy, hot boxed, sold out crowd on Friday.
Those that were lucky enough to snag tickets to the sold out show played witness to one of the most energetic, engaging, and heavy energy shows to hit Vancouver this year. That statement maybe a bold one but the show spoke for itself, playing hits from his full length album “Salad Days” which dropped last April, and not only covering but absolutely conquering a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Demarco proved why he’s gone from playing small time venues to making moves up to festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo. His down to earth, don’t give a fuck performance and showmanship was a refreshing breath of air that this city can be happy to be a part of and take note of his unique and seemingly uphill journey.
