It’s a wise decision that White Noise is only a monthly event at Electric Owl. You never want too much of a good thing.
Resident DJ’s Pat Lok and Wmnstudies played their recent works. Both of their well-produced music has seen me stripped at my barest more times than I can count. Taking showers, getting ready… also, brushing teeth and on the toilet but that’s not as appealing. They sounded exceptional live and I was able to enjoy it even while fully clothed.
It wasn’t until closer to one in the morning that Rainer + Grimm were finally introduced on stage to spin. First remix being Golden Coast’s Break My Fall, followed by Wanderlust by The Weeknd. I almost lost my shit. But, luckily, shit was not lost.
The show started off extremely strong. Though after Wayne Wonder’s No Letting Go everything began to sound more or less the same to me. Overall, not a bad turn out for their first time playing in Vancouver and I would not oppose if they returned to spread more of their goodness.
