I’m probably going to get a bit of flak for wishing this, but I’m so ready for fall. It’s not that I don’t love sunshine and summer (trust me, living in my Birkenstocks and frolicking around town without a jacket feels great). I’m just ready to dive head-first into fall trends.
So to help me pass the time (and so I don’t look like a weirdo wearing wool sweaters and leather motos in the heat), I’m embracing transitional dressing—pieces that I can rock right now, and will look fabulous paired with my fall favourites in a few weeks.
The Thurston Skirt is a prime example. The rich merlot colour and faux-leather fabric has fall’s jewel-tones written all over it. But paired with a striped top or simple grey T-shirt, and this bad-boy can be worn right now. I love the high waist and slight tulip shape of the skirt, which is a flattering cut on just about everyone. Pair it with some metallic sandals for an avant-garde look, or your favourite bootie-heels sans tights.
When fall is in full swing, I guarantee that you’ll be reaching for this closet staple again and again.
The Thurston Skirt is $82 at Need Supply Co.
