Cam’ron finally presented himself after a three hour wait with “Killa Cam”, no less. Like the firing of ammunition he quickly sliced us with cuts from his classics: “Live My Life”, “Get ‘Em Girls”, “Wet Wipes” and “Bout It Bout It”.
Watching the concert from the second floor gave me an eagle’s eye view of the excited men – excited like a bunch of little girls in the best way possible. With the help of a nearly all-male sing-along audience, Cam’ron’s deep and booming voice vibrated through the walls at Venue nightclub. Surely, the crowd’s energy kept him going and he surprised me with some moves during “Down and Out”.
Besides the two random girls on stage distractingly dancing off-beat the whole damn time, the second half of the show was much better with hits such as: “Hey Muma”, “Oh Boy”, “Hey Ma”, “I Really Mean It” and “Suck It or Not”. Cam’ron also found opportunities to chant with his people and thank Vancouver for the love.
In the same format of a textbook storyline consisting of a slow build to a climax followed by a quick drop to an ending conclusion, Cam’ron also abruptly peaced off stage with a split-second “bye” just as the room’s energy was at its peak. To his defense, it was almost 11 o’clock and the nightclub was behind schedule in openings its doors. Even so, Cam’ron still did a little round-about after the concert and took photos with his fans.
Would I wait another three hours for Cam’ron’s 45 minute quick shower jerk performance again? Sure, on the condition that ice cream is provided as I wait.
