In case you haven’t noticed, there’s an ugly-pretty sandal trend going on right now. I’m talkin’ about chunky, flat, shower sandal-inspired, Birkenstock-type shoes. This, of course, is welcome news to fashion gals. Pointy-toe stilettos are impractical and uncomfortable to wear, no matter who’s designing them.
This pair of holographic slip-ons, called the Isis Sandal, is by London-based footwear brand Miista. The two-strapped sandal features a dreamy aquatic colorway, with marine and mint hues up top, contrasted with a clean white sole and seafoam trim.
There’s something a bit granny-ish and orthopedic-looking about these clunky shoes, but that’s what makes them so attractive right now. I’d pair them with dainty sundresses and flowy maxi skirts all summer long, and with distressed boyfriend jeans and white tee during cooler temps.
The Miista Isis Sandal is available at Need Supply Co. for $130.
